It's New Years Day now.

"So what are you going to do for treatment?" Mom asks me carefully

I hesitate.

"I'm not getting treatment."

Spencer stands up.

"What?"

"I'm not getting treatment."

"But you'll die." He whispers.

"I know." I say.

"Natalie." He says.

"Spencer, this is fate telling me it's my time."

"You're only twenty five!"

"I know. Some people don't live as long as others, Spencer."

"Including me then."

"What?" I ask.

"If you die, I'll kill myself."

"Spencer." I sigh.

"I'm serious." He says without batting an eye.

"Spencer, please no."

"Then fight this." He says.

"But I don't want to." I whisper.

"Natalie." He squats in front of me and puts his hands on my knees. "If you die, it will literally shatter me like a shatter to a thin sheet of glass. I barely survived when you moved here during high school. If you die, I won't survive. I refuse. You are the reason I breathe. Without you, I'm nothing. My purpose is gone. I know you don't want to die. Please Natalie, I'm begging you. Fight this. Fight this for me, and for you."

I take a deep breath.

"Okay." I whisper.

"So what are you going to do? Chemo or transplant?"

"I'll try transplant." I say. "But!" I begin. "None of you are allowed to donate; otherwise, I'll just let the disease take me. Is that understood?"

Everyone's face's fall, and then they nod.

"Good." I say. "Now, I have to pee." I stand up.

Everything suddenly gets fuzzy and the room starts to spin.

SPENCER'S POV

Natalie stands up, and then her eyes lock on the window.

She doesn't move.

"Natalie?" I put my hand on her arm.

And then she pisses herself.

Literally, she pisses herself.

And then she falls down and her body starts to jerk around.

"She's having a seizure!" Uncle Albert gasps.

She pukes too.

I shoot forward and turn her on her side and wipe the vomit away from her mouth so she can breathe.

My Mom is on the phone with 911.

I want to give her a bath because she's covered in puke and piss.

I feel so bad for her.

Her body slowly stops writhing and then she lies still.

"Is she dead?" Justice demands.

"She's unconscious."

"Why did she pee?" Olivia whispers.

"Because when you have a seizure you lose control of your bowel movements."
