𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙧𝙙 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝙥𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙬, 𝘽𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙖'𝙨 𝙨𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜.February 9th, one day before the softball season starts.
Brianna and her team couldn't be more excited for their season, it's all they had been waiting for.
Their coaches, were on their asses. Making sure everyone was good academically, but also looking into the future for the team. They wanted to make sure that their girls made it to the end, and they would do whatever it took to get there.
The pressure for this season? Was definitely on.
"No slacking on the field, no more missing practices, and no staying out late anymore." Brianna's head female coach eyed some of her teammates. Now since Brianna was a captain, she would have to address these rules to her teammates who are more of party girls.
"Tomorrow is a big day, let's get it." Everyone got into the team circle and showed their spirit for each other. Hands huddled up and waved them up and down, before clapping and going their separate ways for practice.
Brianna's phone had been blowing up left and right of people messaging her left and right, sending their love to her for the new season.
Dammit, Brianna had accidentally hurt her finger on one of the plays. The ball came faster than what she was expecting, and she unfortunately didn't react fast enough.
I'll be fine, a little redness never hurt anyone.
Practice wasn't that long, the intention was to not put any stress on the girls the day before the game.
Brianna's week had been going well, her and Kyle were in a better space, she's now back in contact with all of her old friends.
"Hey, yea can I ask you something?" Bri had just made it back into her dorm room, she was gonna see what Kyle thought about her and Jalen meeting up.
She wouldn't want him to see a post on social media, and blow up at her. It was best that she tell him before.
"Jalen asked me to hang with him for the break, we haven't linked in a few years, so is that fine with you?" She wasn't gonna mention the other part that Jalen wasn't too fond of Kyle. When the two first got together Jalen sent Brianna a long paragraph telling her why he was a bad option.
"Green? Oh the one you grew up with. That's cool." He nodded in response to her.
"You sure? I know we usually hang for a few days during spring br—" Kyle quickly interrupted her. "Not during this one, I'm gonna be traveling this break. But aye, I got practice. Talk to you later babe."
"Okay, bye. Love you." Brianna sent a soft smile to him. So in a rush, she thought to herself. Why was he so quick to get off the phone? I'm tripping again, shaking her head. She picked out some clothes to go take a shower.
After her shower, Brianna spent majority of her night watching Hulu on her computer.
"I want to order a pizza, this isn't fair." Brianna shook her head at Ki.
On Wednesday's and Friday's the roommates would order a large pizza, drinks and some type of dessert. They were now in season though, so all of that was called off.
"I want one too Ki, but we just have to wait until our seasons are over with."
"I hope we both make it to the finals." Kianna said. Ki was a senior, so this was her last year before she would declare for the WNBA draft.
"It's really your last year Ki, I hate thinking about it. I'm gonna miss you so much." Ever since Brianna transferred, the two clicked immediately.
"I remember thinking they were gonna give me a bad roommate, but I got you. The sweetest one in the world!" Ki looked over at Bri, they both smiled at each other.
"But hey, at least you'll be living off campus for your senior year, no roommate for you!" Brianna was supposed to be moving into an apartment next semester, but she told her mom to hold the offer for her senior year. She liked having a roommate.
Their late night ritual of talking until they fell asleep lasted for about thirty minutes. They both had practice and were knocked out. Now it was game day.
GAME DAY.
Brianna had to wake up extra early during the morning of the game, her biggest supporter, her mom already texted her.
Goodmorning sweet girl! Just prayed over your day and your flight to Florida this morning. Me and the family will be there for your game! Beyond proud of you, I love you so much. My captain!💕
my baby ❤️ loved this messageMorning mom! Thank you for your prayers. I cannot wait to see you today after this game, I love you so much. Thank you for everything that you do for me.
Ashanti would always text her baby Bri before every single game. Now she couldn't come to all of her games, because her schedule was hetic as well. She made it to all the ones she could show up to. Especially tournaments, and the finals.
It was four in the morning, and Bri and her teammates were already on the bus heading to the airport.
Like usual she sat beside one of her teammates, Jessica, who was also a captain for this year. She was a very quiet girl like Bri, so they got along pretty well.
Brianna was getting into her zone and prepared for game day. Meaning all distractions were out the window, her mind was strictly focused on volleyball.
TIME SKIP.
UGA was in the lead for this game. Brianna got two home runs, and carried most of the points for her team. Definitely a leader.
She completely forgot that it was being broadcasted too. The world was watching her.
"Brianna amazing performance today! We see you have your whole family here supporting you! Including your beautiful mom, what motivated your performance today?"
"Practice and my coaches, and my wonderful mother. Have a blessed day." She smiled at the reporter before heading with the rest of her team.
She was used to the mom questions, normal for her. She was still in shock of her performance today. Definitely captain behavior.
