I have known the loveable goofy ball known as Eddie Munson all my life. Despite him being American and me English and living in our respective countries will still managed to make the long-distance relationship work.

Our mothers were best friends until sadly halfway through our high school years Eddies mother past away. They met through a foreign exchange program. My mother went to America when our mothers were at school.

Ever since then a few weeks out of the year my family has gone to America to visit or Eddie's family has come here.

Me and Eddie are both adults now and have been going strong, long distance for a few years but with the price of things nowadays we haven't seen each other in person for a year or two and covid didn't really help with that.

We called each other every day and texted almost every minute. We spoke about work, which Eddie was struggling to find over in America, to watching tv with each other at the same time.

I haven't heard from Eddie all day. He does get upset sometimes when I don't text back but he knows that I'm working.

We are both struggling with our own things. The passing of his mother hit Eddie hard. Know he has nobody in America for him. And for me as my mum kicked me out. She didn't approve of me dating Eddie, she missed her best friend too much for me to be with her son that I clearly loved so much.

As I drove down the country lanes towards my little cottage I noticed that the lights were on. Had I been broken into? I only had the place for a few weeks now and nobody knew I lived her apart from Eddie.

When I got closer to the driveway I noticed I figure standing at my door. I hope I hadn't lost this house already and the figure was kicking me out.

I noticed that curly mop of hair anywhere. It was Eddie. My Eddie. He never said anything about a visit. We both couldn't afford it.

As I got out my car he turned around with a huge smile on his face.

"Eddie?" I called out adjusting my glasses.

When I got to the door he gave me the biggest hug ever. It felt like we hugged for years because we hadn't huged in years. We both missed the physical contact.

We finally both broke free so I could unlock the door.

"Surprise?" He said sheepishly walking through the door.

"Yes I am very" I said with a chuckle.
