I felt like everything was piling up at all the same time. Last night something happened I'm still trying to understand. Erin and Shawn were in charge like always when I wasn't there. They had went out on a normal mission when they were fired upon Caleb and Nicole were hit. I was on the phone with Erin and Shawn, Erin was at the hospital while Shawn was at the office. Diego was sitting across my kitchen helping himself to my food. "Look just get a report of what happened from everyone who was there make sure they are both cleared by a doctor I'm serious I know Caleb will try without" I told them "I have to go wake my son up for school" I told them "hey is Diego there he isn't answering" Shawn questioned "I know where he is...his doing something don't worry just message me what you need him to know" I told them hanging up "so why are you hiding in my kitchen" he shrugs "I don't care that your here I just need you to be honest with me like always is this about the shooting" "we were targets Sam I have been a target before you know this but last night that was different" he told me "fill me in soon I have to be a parent right now or we'll all be running late" I told him going upstairs.

I push his long blond wavy hair that had curls at the end out of his face as I rub his back. "Time to wake up baby" he groans "ace is you baby mummy" his voice groggy and full of sleep. I gently lift him up hugging him tightly "go to the toilet and then get dress breakfast is ready" "I don't want to walk downstairs" he pouts "lucky for you I'm not going anywhere" he smiles racing off. I make myself busy checking the clothes he pulled out last night and tidying his room. I could hear movement behind me but don't look "Ready" he said making me laugh "we need to put this jumper on a coat of won't be warm enough" I told him helping him put his back jumper on before picking him up.

Carrying him downstairs and into the kitchen. "Morning" Diego said making my small child look up. I put Oliver down watching him run over excitedly jumping into Diego's arms. "Eat breakfast" I said putting a bowl of fruit in front of the two "but I want waffles" "we don't have time for waffles" I tell him making him pout "tomorrow" I told him making him nod.

I held his hand walking him into the school. "Mummy can Ace pick me up" out of all the possibilities. I mean this kid has a thousand siblings to choose from. "I think they have a big case how about I ask Dean if he and star can or Justin" he nods his hair flopping about. I kneel in front of him just outside the door. "Your strong and powerful but your also" "kind and loving" I nod "Yep you be the best version of yourself today always being respectful to those around you make me and your dad proud" he nods smiling "I love you baby" I hug him brushing his hair back kissing his head "love you mummy so much" "have the best day" he nods running off. "Wish my kids would say goodbye like that" Cindy said "we always have guess being shot at and in a war zone both here and overseas puts things in perspective" I shrugs "probably why Chris hugs them every morning whether they want to or not" I nod "it's exactly why the power of hearing I love you from them is so great I would do anything to have all my kids hug me and tell me I love you on a daily basis" I told her she nods me "we should have coffee sometime" "I would love to not today have to go into the office but" "soon" she laughs "I didn't expect today" she told me we hug before I go to my car.

I walk onto my floor at the fbi building and the first person I see is Caleb. "You cleared by a doctor" he nods "yep even got them to print it out want me to frame it put it on your wall" I roll my eyes "your good just have a full write up of what happened on my desk" "already done Shawn made sure of it Erin's with Nicole she's in hospital but fine so she's working from there" he fills me in "Shawn tell you to meet me and fill me in" it was just like him to do that. Caleb nods "ok go do your work" I shove him gently.

"Is Nicole under constant watch" Shawn nods "ok I want us operating under the pretence of a lockdown we don't exist" I told him sternly "well given the fact that we are already basically unknown shouldn't be to hard" my group by all intensive purposes don't exist. To any normal group of fbi agents we are an elite research team. But we were so much more. We had experts in all our fields and take on the worst of the worst cases. "We do this on a level of discrete that even we don't know" I told him "if they are targeting us that means someone or someone close to us opened their mouth" "who can we trust" "for right now you me Erin Diego and Nathan we tell them information but not everything until we r are certain they can be trusted" he nods "get Erin back here and send someone else" I told him shooing him out if my office. How could all of this get so messy. First my son and now this. How can I handle all of this. I rub my face frustrated sitting down. I need a holiday from my life.
