One problem at a time

I didn't know what to focus on my team or my children. My children were always need first. But it just seemed to be one problem after another right now, seems the only one that I can distract myself with is Oliver at the moment. Adam was in jail but I'm trusting Henry, no matter how much I want to step in I'm letting him deal with it. Denise is having boy problems which she loves to tell me all about and normally I love hearing. Nia was having some big potentially law changing things go on she's extra excited. Jack as we know is firefighter and let's just say hearing his stories of running into building did the same thing it did to me as hearing Adam and jays stories about how they spent their days as a cop. It terrified me but seeing how excited they are I knew why they did it. It brought an equal amount of joy. I also kinda understand Jay and Adams need to an extent running into burning buildings I will never get. Will is planning to propose but wants me to actually know her before he does, he just had to pick this week to bring it up when everything is. Jay had also started asking why I left his dad I think his putting more of the story together, more than I want him to know. It's the part I kept secret for a reason. Then there's the issue with my team. I have downsized unofficially of course I only speak to certain people, those I trust and we are digging into everyone else. Not that anyone knows.
It just felt like everything came call at once.

I sigh as Jay attempts to call me again. I hated that I was avoiding him per say, but I couldn't deal with another Q&A about mine and Pats relationship. I felt like I was drowning. "Mummy mummy" Oliver said coming into my office. Erin had picked him up from school after weeks of him begging me. "How was your day beautiful boy" I ask situating him on my lap and turning us to face my computer. "It was good I married Maddie" "who" "Maddie she's my friend she's cool" I laugh "I hope she likes our weird wacky family" "oh she does I told her all about it" he said smiling at me "I can't wait to tell Justie later can we have Will and Jay and Ace as well" "I don't know if Justin will be there Bub his with Olive" he sighs "what about the others" "well wills with his girlfriend but I'm sure Jay and Adam will come over" "I don't like wills girlfriends" he didn't even know her but ok "oh we should get ace to bring Kim they are getting married" "are they now" "yep Ace loves Kim and I love Kim so they marry also Jackie has a girlfriend Nia loves Charlotte" I look at my son "what I'm cute people tell me thing" I laugh hugging him tightly.

"Jayyyy" Oliver yelled I could hear him running across the house "mummy didn't know if you would come...You know Ace is going to marry Kim oh and I marry Maddie and Nia bring her girlfriend she's cool" "that's a lot Adam proposed" "nope but he will or maybe I will I like Kim and Will said if you like someone whole a lot you marry them" I chuckle glancing over from my spot on the couch. "Justie May not come his with Olive I like her Will won't let me meet his girlfriend yet mummy has to first so I hate her" oh how simple it is to be seven and just claim you hate someone or demand someone marry someone else. I watch jay put Oliver on the floor before walking over to me kissing my head. "Hey mummy" "hey baby" I said tapping his hand.

We were all sitting in the living room just talking. We had already ate dinner so we were just winding down. "Kim" Oliver said looking at her as he stood in front of her "are you going to marry Ace" I could hear the rest of my children try to hold back a laugh, I imagine Adam Adam would be dying inside. We had told Oliver that Adam was busy working on a very important case, he luckily understood that despite working together sometimes some of his brothers disappear for a bit while the others don't. Still have to actually explain what undercover work is to him but he got it enough. Kim had come after Oliver practically demanded her to through Erin. "Well uh" "oh that's ok you can marry me if you don't love him enough Will said you have to love someone a whole lot I already have a wife Maddie are you ok with that" "how about we see how things go with Maddie first" Kim said making Oliver nod thoughtfully "who's Maddie" Adam questioned "my wife" Oliver said like it was the simplest thing on the planet. They all look over at me "don't look at me I don't know her she's a new kid in his class who his apparently married to" I exclaim "what's she look like" Jack asks "hmm she has brown hair oh and she has pretty eyes like mummy's I love mummy her eyes make me happy" Oliver said smiling happily.

Jay sat beside me. "You have been avoiding me" "no I haven't I have just been busy you know I would never truely avoid you" he sighs "what happened" I look over at him "between you and dad what actually happened" I sigh "jay" "no I have to know" "I know you won't give up" I glance at him to see him looking at me "jay you were a kid many things happened that I protected you from" I reach out touching his face "you also have picked the absolute worst time to dig up the past" "Voight will get Adam out" I nod "I know and Will wants me to meet or get to know his girlfriend Oliver getting married every five seconds apparently" "the kids seven and has a more girlfriends than me" "think you mean wives" he chuckles nodding "nia has a girlfriend as well" "yeah Ollie told me asked Jack and yeah she does now we just have to meet her" Jay told me "oh I don't know I think she's going to hold off keep her girlfriend away from all this craziness" he chuckles "yeah all our partners don't have a choice they already know you" he mused "Jay I promise one day I'll tell you I'm not going to stop you from this mission your on but I won't verify anything either because it will break me" "mum" "I know and I promise I will one day" "you don't have to I won't stop you are right about that I can't lie to you but I also don't want you hurt" he told me leaning over to hug me. "I love you" "I love you more than anything" I assure him hugging him tightly.
