Part 9

Torin: "Even I want her to see the world again sir. But I can say that only after checking her. Will she agree for it?"

Raff: "Never. She will never agree for it. Though she doesn't show it, the blindness is affecting her. But she is afraid. She is scared that the results might turn negative and her hopes might break. Do you have any idea?"

Torin: "The only way we have is to build her confidence sir. We can do the test by one way or other. But if we do it with her concern then she can gain more confidence. I want her consent for her test sir. We need to do something to make her agree"

Raff: "You are right. I'll think of something and call you. If you get an idea, contact me. Here is my number" They exchanged their numbers and Mr. Rafferty stood up to go. Torin too was standing. When he neared the door, he turned back.

Torin: "You want to say something sir?"

Raff: "It is uncle for you. Not sir. Remember it next time" He said with a smile making Torin smile in return. Mr. Rafferty bid bye and went away. Torin was happy that he could do something for Cecily. He didn't know what he is feeling for Cecily but he wanted to protect her from the world. Soon his shift ended and he headed home.

   He went home and saw his parents watching TV. After freshening up he joined them and Josiah handed him his coffee.

Torin: "Where is Hope?"

Charlotte: "She is sleeping in her room"

Torin: "I want to tell you something" Then he recited everything he heard from Mr. Rafferty to his parents. They felt sad for Cecily and was also surprised seeing him worrying for her. Torin never cared for anyone except his family. But now he is yearning to help and protect Cecily. They sensed his attraction towards Cecily but didn't want to rush things. They decided to wait till he opens up himself.

Charlotte: "What have you decided to do to help her?"

Torin: "I really have no idea dad. I badly want to help her. But I don't know how"

Josiah: "Think with a calm mind. You'll surely get an idea. Don't stress too much. You will soon find a solution"

Hope: "Thor" They heard the sleepy voice of the angel of the house. Hope came and settled on Torin's lap. He hugged her and kissed her cheek.

Torin: "Yes buttercup"

Hope: "I want to see Flossie"

Torin: "Now? But buttercup, you will meet her on Sunday. Just two days"

Hope: "NO. I want to see now" Seeing their banter, an idea struck Charlotte.

Charlotte: "Torin, why don't you call Cecily and ask her if we could visit them now" Torin gave him an unbelievable look. Josiah too was shocked but seeing her husband's face, she knew he was upto something and she decided to join.

Josiah: "Yes Torin. What is the harm in trying?" Torin was about to retort but complied seeing Hope's puppy face. He took his phone sighing. He dialled Cecily's number and waited for her to pick up. She picked up in third ring and he was stuck for a second hearing her silky voice.
