Beautiful

Part 12

   Torin and Cecily were sitting in silence after sharing their past. They didn't need to be consoled. They just wanted to hear each other out and they did just that. Torin felt that it was the right time and after gathering immense courage, he dared to ask her that one dreading question.

Torin: "Cecily, do you ever feel like you want to see this world again?" He was met with silence. But still their hands were entwined. Torin felt fear creeping his insides seeing her silence. He felt that he rushed things and decided to apologise. But she bet him to it.

Cecily: "Many times. Many times I've felt to see this world again but my fear overpowered that thought" She barely whispered but Torin clearly heard her.

Torin: "What is your fear?" She sighed before answering.

Cecily: "That my results might turn negative, that I might not be able to see this world again. That I might be rejected once again" Finally a tear slipped from her eyes and she bowed down hiding her tears from him. But he lifted her face and wiped the tear.

Torin: "What if your fear turns out to be false? What if you might be able to see the world again? What if you will never be rejected ever again?" Though she couldn't see him, she lifted her head and stared in his direction. Torin felt that she was staring right into his soul. He wanted to get lost in the pool of her eyes for ever.

Cecily: "I don't know" she sighed bowing down again. He lifted her face again!

Torin: "How can you say anything without trying?"

Cecily: "I'm afraid and scared"

Torin: "Ok. I understand. But will you follow if I suggest you something?" She looked at him confused.

Cecily: "What are you saying?"

Torin: "I'll suggest some diet and exercise for your eyes. Try them for sometime and tell me if you feel anything different. We'll see other things afterwards. What say? You agree for this?" After thinking for sometime, Cecily agreed. He smiled. They heard Ariel calling for them and they headed downstairs. Torin felt four pairs of curious eyes on him and he smiled in return.

Charlotte: "Torin, Cecily come let's have dinner"

Torin: "Where is Hope?" Charlotte sighed heavily hearing that amusing Torin.

Josiah: "She isn't leaving Flossie even for a second. She is refusing to have dinner saying she needs to play with her" Torin was surprised hearing it while Cecily just smiled.

Cecily: "Wait. I'll get her"

James: "She's in the garden outside" Cecily nodded and headed outside. Others settled in the dining table waiting for them. Within few minutes Cecily came in with Flossie in one hand and Hope's hand in other. Everyone sat amused seeing them. They joined others and this time Cecily sat between Torin and Hope. Torin leaned near her ear and whispered.

Torin: "How did you convince her?" Cecily shuddered in his proximity. She felt weird sensations in her heart and stomach. Soon she composed herself. Torin who noticed this felt happy. He was on cloud nine knowing that he had some effect on Cecily.

Cecily: "I ju... just said that it's time for Flossie to eat too" Her stammering made him smirk inwardly. He was hopeful now. Unknown to him two pairs of eyes too noticed this sweet exchange and smiled. Dinner was a joyous affair that day with two families getting to know each other and two souls trying to seek out for each other.
