Stitches

One

The one thing Maria wasn't expecting for Meredith to go to a bar. She walked in as her babysitter was watching her daughter. She stopped seeing a guy talking to her sister causing her to walk over. "I called Mikey in to watch Isabella to come to you."

"I'm sorry."

"Meredith, you should have realized that he was hiding something when he stayed at your place." Maria says. "Mom taught us that."

"If you're here to insult me. Go home."

Maria smiled as Cristina hugged her. "Let's play who's life sucks the most. I'll win. I always win."

"No, you don't."

"Derek's married."

George spit out his beer causing Maria to laugh. "That's funny."

"You have beer dripping from your nostrels."

Maria shook her head as she took a sip of beer causing her to hear that Cristina was pregnant till she heard glass breaking. "You have got to be kidding me." She says as she looked at Joe. "Merdith, I'll be at the hospital on the phone."

"Okay." She says. "My sister's life sucks more than ours."

Walking up to the desk, she stopped seeing Derek. "Oh look." She says as he looked at her. "You hurt her and now, you are not my friend. You are just one of those damn lying bastards!"

Derek watched as Maria walked away. He ruined his relationship with Meredith and now his best friend. "Damnit."

"Grey!" She heard.

"Which one?"

"Meredith."

Maria sighed as she walked away from them with her file. She stopped and looked at Bailey. "I know I'm not the surgeron as I chose to deliver..."

"You still are a surgeon even in that field."

Maria smiled as she was checking on her patients. She never saw George watching her as Meredith walked over to him. Maria smiled as she held a baby causing her to think of her little one at home. Sighing she put the baby down on the scale and smiled. "I think he is ready to go to his mother."

"Thank you, Dr. Grey. Would you like to come?"

"Sure." She says as she followed her fellow nurse.

Meredith saw her sister working with other patients. She was a wonderful mother who had it all till the baby's daddy died. Meredith knew she wasn't there for her sister, but knowing her life was spinning out of control, she needs to be there. "Dr. Grey?'

"Which one?" Maria asked as she walked over to her sister.

"You work in the ob department. Right?" Maria nodded. "I need you to insist me and your sister on this surgery."

Maria nodded as she followed them.

Maria was focused on this surgery that she never once seen her sister looking at Addison. Meredith wondered if she listened to her sister, would her life be a mess like it is now.

Later that day, Maria smiled as she looked at the ultrasound. "The baby is perfectly healthy." She tells a mother not seeing Addison.

"How's Isabella?"

"She's happy. She just turned one."

Addison was shocked. Maria Grey has a child and she was different from her sister. She was dedicated to her future and her daughter is her main focus. "She's different from her sister." She mumbles.

Seeing the smile on her face, Addison may have found a friend. Maria Grey.

After work, Maria walked into her house and smiled as she saw her baby. "Thank you, Mikey."

"Anytime." He says. "Thanks for helping mom today."

Maria smiled as she handed him the money and left. Maria walked over to her little girl and laid in the floor to play with the one person she missed. Isabella Grey.

P.S. Mikey is a teenage boy who lives next door. His mother is pregnant and they are close to Maria.
