Maria smiled as she was strolling Isabella around. Meredith saw her sister making her and Cristina walk over. "Hey."

"Hey, Mer..." Maria froze as she saw Cristina. "Hi."

"She's...yours?" Maria nodded. "She's adorable."

Maria smiled as she saw the time on her watch. "I need to find my neighbor, she's watching Maria today since her son has school."

"I thought Mikey watched her."

"He's about to turn sixteen and is making a little bit of money for a car. I offered him the babysitting job and he does an amazing job with Isabella."

"Maria!"

"Got to go." She tells them as she went over to the lady.

At work, Maria was getting ready for work when she saw Izzie and Alex laughing. "That's a strange scene to see first thing, but she may have learnt Alex by now."

"He is your person."

"Has been since day one. He's like a brother to me. See ya."

Meredith, Cristina and George looked at Izzie and Alex. Maria stopped as she was putting her hair up. When they walked behind Alex, the sound of Ellis Grey caused Maria to stop. Alex noticed that Maria stopped causing him to grab his best friend and drag her with him.

When they heard a patient was being brought in, Maria walked with her sister just to stop seeing her mother. She stared at her mother looked at them. "What are you two doing here?" Meredith grabbed Maria's hand. "Haven't I told you two? How many times have I told you two not to bother me when I'm at work?"

Maria walked away with her sister as they hid behind the wall. "Why does she have to be here?"

"I don't know, but we have one another."

"We do." She says as she saw another stretcher to see her daughter. "Isabella!" She ran to her. "What happened?"

"She was playing just fine and when I went back in to give her some water, she was on the ground unconscious." The neighbor says.

"Isabella was fine this morning."

"What's the patient's name?" Bailey asked.

"Isabella Grey, one year old."

"Contact her mother, Maria and go to your sister.."

"I am her mother."

Bailey looked at her shocked as Isabella was taken to have x-rays done as she was stable. Maria walked away. Bailey sighed. "Maria, you're not working."

"That's fine. My baby needs me."

Maria walked into her daughter's room and grabbed her hand. "Hey, sweetie."

Meredith walked in. "How is she?"

"Stable." She says. "I don't understand how one child or person is fine one minute and the next..."

"What was Ryan's medical history?"

Maria looked at her sister and shrugged. "I never looked. If there was something he never told me, then I'm scared."

Meredith hugged her sister. "Why don't you go and get back in your scrubs and start running test on your daughter."

Maria looked back at Isabella and nodded. She knew the one person. "Actually, I know who can help me." She says. "Where's Addison?"

Maria heard her mother and walked over to where her sister is. They saw her mom acting out, but hearing that Meredith needed her dad. "Maria, she needs me! She always learned from me!"

Maria looked at her sister as she ran away. "Mom?"

"Maria, sweetie, how are you?"

"I'm fine, but once you are calmer, there is someone I want you to meet." She says.

"Is it a boy?"

"No." She says. "There was one, but he passed suddenly. You have a granddaughter."

"Oh." Maria nodded. "I can't wait to meet her, but I need you to go back to work."

"Okay."

George looked at her. "How...."

"I was always mom's favorite. I wanted to learn and never play." She says. "Now, if you excuse me, I need to go be with my daughter."

Maria smiled as she held her little girl's hand who was playing. She smiled causing Isabella to look at her. "Mommy!" She squealed out making Maria cry.

"I'm right here." She tells her. "Mommy needs to go get you some food."

Isabella started playing as Maria walked out, but stopped as she grabbed her head. Derek saw his friend. "Maria?"

"I'm..." she fell causing her daughter to scream and cry seeing her mom go down.

"I need some help!" Addison says looking at Maria. "Maria, wake up!"

Maria wasn't responding causing her to start CPR.

"Meredith!"

"What? I need to see what's going on with Cristina..."

"It's Maria." A nurse says.

"What about her?" Meredith asked.

"She fainted, but she's going to be okay." She tells her. "I think her worrying about her daughter finally caught up to her."

"I'll be there to check on her."

Maria woke up to see her sister crying. 'What?"

"My sister fainted scaring the shit out of me, mom has cancer, and Isabella has a problem with her heart." Meredith says.

"Ryan had issues. Didn't he?"

"Yep and never told you anything."

"Does she have a chance?"

"Yep." Meredith says grabbing her hand. "Mom may not, Cristina is going to be okay."

"What happened?"

"She passed out during surgery. The baby didn't make it."

Maria nodded. "I wished to be there." She says as a nurse brought her daughter in with the other interns she works with.

"Surprise."

"You're okay." Izzie says hugging her.

Alex smiled as he hugged his person. Isabella stared crying causing them to look at her and knew. She wanted her mother. Maria cried as Alex handed Isabella over to her mom. "Hey, baby." She says. "I'm so glad you're okay."
