Now this is a perfect ending

4 years later...

"Lieutenant Lightning!' Lightning turned to see Rooster. "Commander." She said at a stance. "At ease, it's great to see you." He tells her. "It's great to see you Chicken boy." She said as he shook his head. "So I heard you are taking up teaching at Top Gun?" Rooster questioned her.

"Yeah, it's something I want to do." Lightning told him. "By your sister's side." Rooster said. "Yeah... she's pregnant again so she can't do much flying." Lightning said.

So much has happened in four years. Lana and Jake had a little girl together three years ago, then a year ago they finally gotten married and now expecting little boy. Lana was now an Admiral and teaching at Top Gun by her little sister's side.

"You wanna know something Lightning?" Rooster questioned her. "What would that be Roost." Lightning said. "I'm proud of you, I know River is too but you have came a LONG ways, proud of you." Rooster said. Lightning smiled and pulled him into a hug.

"I don't know how your going to break the news to your sister about you and Lt. Yankee dating." Rooster said and Lightning's eyes widen.

"When is auntie and daddy going to be home?" Lucy asked her mom. "Anytime now." Lana said as she finished up dinner. Lucy then walked in living room and sat in front of the window. She saw her aunt pulled in. "AUNT HARPER!" Lucy exclaimed.

Lana smiled at her daughter's excitement. Harper was still living in the same household as Lana, she would be moving out here soon, but Harper helped out Lana and Jake by taking care of Lucy when they wanted time to their selves and also helped Lana with the chores. Jake and Lana are so appreciative.

Harper walked in the house and Lucy wrapped herself around her aunt's legs. Harper giggled.

"Ahh, there's my darling Lucy, you been good for momma?" Harper asked her niece, the little girl nodded. Harper smiled and picked the little girl up. She looked at her older sister, "How was your day?" Harper asked her older sister.

"It's been alright, I didn't get sick today which is a plus, how was yours?" Lana asked as Harper approached the table. "I saw Bradshaw today." Harper said.

Lana smiled. "He's been so busy since being promoted to Commander." Lana said. "Says the one who got promoted to admiral in short amount of time, but hey you worked your butt off." Harper said as she put Lucy down. "Go play with your toys while momma and I talk." Harper whispered to her niece, Lucy nodded and ran into the toy room.

"You going to be teaching at Top Gun?" Lana questioned her sister. "Yep, not to mention I was told I am being promoted to Captain." Harper said. Lana eyes widen, "Oh my goodness, congratulations little sis." Lana said as she hugged Harper. "Thanks." Harper said.

"I have talked to Bradshaw, but he told me your seeing somebody... Lt. Yankee?" Lana questioned. Harper gulped and nodded. "I'm not surprised." Lana said. Harper furrowed her brows, "What's that suppose to mean?" Harper questioned her older sister.

Lana giggled. "Not in a bad way, I just hope he knows what he's in for. Can't be any different then Jake." Lana said. Harper smiled.

Then they heard a car pull in the driveway. The sisters looked at each other. "Hangman." They both said. This caught the little girl's attention. She smiled and exclaimed. "DAD'S HOME!" She ran to the front door.

Jake walked in and saw his daughter. "Hey you." He said as he picked her up. "Did you miss me?" He asked her and she nodded as she snuggled into his neck. Harper and Lana smiled. Jake made eye contact with Lana.

He walked up to her and gave her a peck. "How was your day?" Jake asked her. "Just the same old same old, except our son didn't make me sick today." Lana said. He rubbed her bump, "I'm glad." Jake said.

Then he looked over at Harper. "Heard you have a boyfriend, hope he knows what's he's in for.... besides I'm happy for you." Jake said to his sister in law with a smile.

"Thanks." Harper said. "Did you hear that's she about to promoted to Captain." Lana said to her husband. "About damn time, congrats." Jake said as he hugged his sister in law. "Thanks... I am also teaching at Top Gun with Lana." Harper said. "That's what I heard... you two are going to make quite a team." Jake said looking at the two sisters.

Lana and Harper looked at each other. "Indeed." Lana said as she smiled at her little sister.

................

Harper was down by the shore with Lucy. Lana smiled. "Just to think we are about to add another." Jake said. "Yes, little boy in fact, oh just imagine... He's going to look so much like you but a great mixture of both us." Lana said. Jake grinned. They looked at Harper.

"Oh I am so proud of her." Lana said. "Yeah... she's not the bratty teen I met." Jake said and Lana giggled. "Oh absolutely not , She just had a rematch with Javy and Reuben when they were in... she crushed them again." Lana said as Jake chuckled.

"Have they not learned." Jake said to her. "Not so... I'm excited to meet this man she fell in love with..." Lana said. "So you can give him the talk." Jake said as Lana rose a brow. "If he hurts my little sister... I'll kick his ass." Lana said. Jake chuckled a bit. "The same words she said to me." Jake said.

"I am really looking forward to the future with you." Lana said. "Same here, because I can't imagine my life without you, I would be lost." Jake said. Lana smiled and pressed her lips to his. They pulled away and walked down the beach to join Harper and their daughter.
