Eden had been sat in her room for days, layed in bed glumly as she listened to her grandfather's old vinyl collection on repeat, all of the songs had to be from before she was born, they dated back from the 50's all the way up to the 90's, it was quite extensive, there had to be more than one hundred of them, but they were some of the only things that eden had actually taken away from her parents house.

she wasn't sure why she had even taken them at the time. she didn't even have a record player until a year ago when karl had gotten her one at christmas, she had forgotten about them until then, now that's what eden always did whenever she had spare time, she would sit in bed, most likely with a book and listen to the vinyls, she liked the authenticity of them, she much preferred them to listening to music on any electronic devices.

a lot of the music she had been listening to she had never even heard before, but nevertheless most of the time she liked them, if she did she'd usually get karl to come listen to them with her, either on facetime or he'd have to come over to her house which wasn't much of a problem as he only lived across the road.

today eden had been listening to vinyls all day, she had mostly been listening to 80's rock, it was just one of those days, that was until she discovered, via karl and Chris who had visited her earlier that day that she didn't have any groceries, she was getting rather hungry, she didn't really want takeout, she felt like cooking something nice, she decided that she could invite everybody round, everybody being, jimmy, karl, chris, chandler and nolan.

it would be nice, it had been a while since they had all come round to edens house and ate together, she used to cook for them all the time but with eden gradually feeling more ill and drained they hadn't been able to.

eden got out of bed, swinging her legs out from underneath the covers and standing up, only to fall back down onto her bed, eden took a minute to ground herself before slowly standing back up, feeling rather dizzy, she put it down to standing up too fast and went on with her day, picking out an outfit before walking out the door to her car.

she had started driving to best buy, it was a twenty minute drive from her house but it felt like so much longer.

During the drive eden had started to feel quite lightheaded but nonetheless she continued to drive, ignoring the pit in her stomach telling her to pull over, but she soon got to the store, thankfully in one piece, she decided she wanted to be quick in there so she could go to the park, she had a Stephen King book in her bag that was waiting for her.

She had been pushing her cart through the isles, picking up random things that were either on the list or she knew she would probably want.

But it was hard eden had been feeling dizzy and nauseous since she had woken up that morning.

She had to stop for a minute, she leant against her cart, and tried to breathe steadily. She thought maybe she might be having a panic attack, since she got them a lot when she was younger.

She thought that until she blacked out, collapsing to the floor rather dramatically, people had rushed towards her, crowding around her like she was a circus act, but of course eden didnt know any of this, she was unconscious and had started to have a seizure, the staff had all come after being called to that isle and everyone was surrounding her, one guy had called an ambulance, another was trying to keep her head Still as he knew what to do, his grandfather had epilepsy is what he had told them.

The seizure had stopped and the ambulance had come, and eden was being rushed to the nearest hospital, she had woke up in the ambulance, scared out of her mind, a man in black was in the seat next to her, she tried to sit up, but the paramedic stopped her, explaining that they were taking her to the hospital and that she needed to calm down.

Eden had woken up that morning, reminiscing the days she listened to music with her grandad, it was meant to be a good day and now she was layed in an ambulance, wearing an oxygen mask to help her breath.

It didn't take long to get to the hospital, she was rushed upstairs for a CT scan to say eden was scared was an incredible understatement, the paramedics had explained that she had passed out and had a seizure, eden had zoned out after that, all she could possible think about was questioning herself was what in the world could be going on with her

Eden had to stay completely still for the CT which was quite hard, but once it was over she was taken to a hospital room which inhabited a man who looked around her age already staying in it.

Eden was staying in the bed on the other side of the room to him, who she had been told his name was Gabriel.

"what are you in here for" Gabriel asked as he looked at the girl, sat in the hospital bed, staring at the wall, "I'm guessing that you don't know yet by your lack of an answer" he commented, sympathy laced through his tone.

"It just... happened, they told me I had a seizure, I don't know what's happening" eden said, mainly to herself, trying to process what had happened, it had all happened so quickly that she had no idea what was going on.

"I know how you feel, its confusing when you don't know what's happening" he said to her, she finally turned to face him, "why are you here" she questioned innocently, thankful that he wa sort of getting her mind off of things.

"Osteosarcoma, i have bone cancer in my leg"

"Oh... I'm sorry" eden said sympathetically, "its okay, it's not your fault" he replied, sending her a small smile.

"Gabriel, come on its time for your treatment" a female nurse told him, she looked around their age, maybe a few years older.

"See you later eden, and good luck" Gabriel said to her with a sympathetic smile as he was wheeled out of the room by the nurse.

And then she was alone, alone with her own thoughts.

She sat there for about an hour before a doctor came into the room to speak to her.

"Okay so, Eden Mathews? We are going to send you home but we'll give you a call when we have your test results" the man, who she had learnt was called Dr Moskowitz said to her, with a sweet smile.

"Uhm, so do I just go?" She asked him slowly, she still hadn't fully processed what was happening.

"Yes Eden, we will call you when we know what's wrong with you, call us if you have anything else happen to you okay" he told her, before saying something else that she didn't really listen to before he left.

Eden was taken back to the grocery store in a taxi so she could drive back home, she had given up on buying her shopping, it was already too late and she wanted to get home.

It was a quick drive home, but Eden still felt horrific and knowing that something was definitely wrong with her didn't help her calm down at all, she had a seizure, if she had it any sooner she could have died in a car accident, she had gotten lucky.

she didn't know what was happening to her and she didn't know what she was going to tell karl or any of her other friends, so eden sat in her car, in the rain, trying to figure out what to say to them, she didn't really have anything to say, she still didn't have the test results, she didn't know herself yet, she ultimately decided against telling them that she had, had a seizure in the middle of Walmart down the pasta isle, they'd only worry about her and never let her leave the house alone ever again, which is not what she needed right now.

her life was felt like an EKG machine, so many things had been going well for Eden, Eden had a stable job that she loved and she had the best friends she could ever ask for, but now her life was beginning to go downhill, or at least it felt like it to her.

was this some sort of karma, did she do something wrong, or was she a terrible person, as much as she tried to make excuses she couldn't find any logical ones.
