thirty five!- are you sick?

george stood beside eden with an unreadable expression on his face, maybe today wasn't the right day to surprise her with one of her best friends visiting, they had to have her out of the house whilst they brought him in, but maybe they should've arranged his flight for a different day, a day when eden hadn't just had to sit through hours of chemotherapy that always made her feel ghastly afterwards.

but of course, george was the only one who knew how eden was feeling and the mood she was in, his friends hadn't known that this probably wasn't the right time for eden to be receiving any surprises, so it wasn't their fault, and they couldnt have really hidden him from her.

but to georges surprise, upon seeing one of her best friends, eden plastered on the best smile she could manage and opened her arms wide for a hug, to which he gladly accepted, this wasn't the first time they had met in person, but it wasn't a lie that they had missed each other very much, alex's and eden's personality's just seemed to go so well together, they were constantly laughing when they were together and they'd make witty comments to eachother, and it just felt so natural for them to talk to eachothher.

if eden thought about it, as much as she was tired and had plans with her bed for the next three days, she thought it might be nice to have him their, she could tell alex anything and he was probably someone that she could trust with anything, and she felt that she could talk to him about whatever she wanted, eden had made her decision, alex would be the next person she tells about... everything going on in her life.

"i missed you" alex mumbled, quietly so that nobody but eden could hear him, "i missed you too alex" she muttered back, resting her head on his shoulder and shutting her eyes, she wasn't falling asleep, just resting her eyes...

"i'm shocked, usually you'd start talking about how sappy i'm being, are you sick" alex laughed at his own joke, of course it was only meant to be a joke, and he was right, usually eden would go on and on about how alex loved her so much and that he shouldn't get all sappy because it would make him uncool, but today, eden was just too tired for any of that, she loved joking around with her friends but recently she felt exhausted and ill. but she didnt want cancer to ruin her whole life, and she couldn't let it.

"hmm no, im just feeling nauseous looking at you" she said too him, usually she would've said that with a bright and cheery voice, but instead it sounded tired and unbothered, but at least she tried.

"wow, you're just too kind eden" he replied with a grin, glad that the eden he knew was back, he smiled at her, everyone caught up for a while, just talking about how they had been doing, but eden seemed distant, she had been trying to listen to what they were all saying, she couldn't quite focus on what they were saying and she wassnt saying much, to anyone who didnt know about her cancer, she knew she probably seemed rude, but she was exhausted and all of the usage her brain was going through wasnt helping.

as soon as she found an opening to speak, when everyone had finished their last conversation, she took that chance and spoke up.

"hey, im pretty tired so i think i might just head to bed early, i am sorry that i couldn't have been any more entertaining for you alex" eden laughed under her breath, trying to lighten the mood, she hadnt really made any contributions to their conversations anyway, it wouldnt make any difference to anything if she wasnt there, or at least that's how eden liked to look at it, thinking like that helped her feel guilty for not being as welcoming and excited as she probably shouldve been for alex's arrival.

the boy's all told her goodnight as she left the room before they went back to their conversations, but george was quite worried about the girl, he knew it was probably just because of her chemo, but she seemed pretty out of it.

maybe he should ask karl to talk to her about it, after all, they are best friends and probably the closest out of any of them.
