after filming that video and her long conversation with chris eden had been avoiding everyone, it had officially been a few days since she had seen any of her friends, or spoken to anybody, it's not as if she doesn't want to speak to anyone, but she doesn't know what to do anymore, eden doesnt know what's going on with her, that's pretty worrying.

but that wouldn't be for long, today is the day, dr moskowitz had asked her to come into the hospital so he could tell her the results of the tests they had ran, and after that they could go on from there. eden would be lying if she said she wasn't at all worried.

dr moskowitz didn't exactly sound the cheeriest over the phone, probably the opposite actually, eden could tell he was trying to mask his true feelings, but apparently not good enough, he sounded gloomy and pitiful.

"hello?" eden answered the phone, she hadn't recognised the number but she had a feeling she knew who it might be and it turns out that she was right.

"hello eden, this is doctor Moskowitz, if you remember i believe we met just over a week ago when you were brought into the hospital, we have your results back and i would like you to come see me today if possible." he sounded so professional, yet eden could hear the regret and sorrow in his voice.

"uhm, yeah sure what time?" she  asked him, she still had bit s of hope left, after all, he could just want to deliver the good news in person, maybe  he had just given someone bad news before this phone call, that could be why he sounds so sad.

"would you be able to come in within the next couple of hours, there's a lot we have to discuss" and her hope was crushed. if it was good news why would they have a lot to discuss, hes practically telling her shes fucked.

"y-yeah that's fine, ill be there." and then their conversation was over, what more is there to say, the rest of it would be said in person, in just a few hours...

that's what eden was getting herself prepared for, she hadn't bothered changing i nto anything decent like she usually would when leaving her house, instead she wore a hoodie from sapnap's merch store that he had sent her just last week and it already had toothpaste on it. other that that she was wearing her grey pyjama shorts, they were clean of course but she had picked up the first thing on her laundry pile and put it on, she really wasn't bothered what she looked like for this meeting? can you call this a meeting, technically she was meeting someone and she hated calling it an appointment, it sounds so important and she didn't like that.

eden only had five minutes before she had to leave if she wanted to get there in time but the only person she could think about is karl, she knew she didn't want to tell him what was going on in her life but she wanted to se him one last time before she potentially got in her car and found out the worst news of her life.

she wanted one more moment with him before her life potentially turned into hell, she didn't want the last thing he say to him be goodbye, she wante dit to be more special, she wanted a conversation with him that she could hopefully remember forever.

which is why eden found herself running across the street to karls house in the pouring rain, standing at the door as she both regretted her choice of outfit and decided whether to knock or not. at this point eden was getting soaked, her head was having a debate with itself.

hypothetically if she did knock and he answered, what would she even say, she hadn't decided that part yet, she was hoping it would come to her in the moment, so when she finally knocked on the door, she was throwing herself in the deep end.

it took a few seconds but eventually karl opened the door, his eyes went wide as he saw who it was, all eden could do is give him a small smile as she stood there in pyjamas as a jumper, she could imagine how pathetic she probably looked to him, stood at his door, soaking wet and shivering.

she wondered what he was actually going to say to her, she had been avoiding everyone for a while, she hoped he wasn't upset or this wouldn't go exactly as she had planned.

but instead of saying anything he pulled her into a hug, not seeming to care about his clothes that she was getting wet, for a second she thought chris had maybe told karl what she had told him but she knew chris would never do that to her, especially when she asked him specifically not to say anything.

eden was so confused, but instead of asking she slowly wrapped her arms around his back, letting him rest his chin on the top of her head, eden used to hate when her tall friends do that, she used to feel small and pathetic but in these  moments she needed it, she has so much uncertainty in her life right now, and just knowing that someone is there for her gave her some much needed comfort.

eden knew time was catching up with her, she knew she had to go but she really didn't want to, she didn't want to leave karls embrace for the nervous car drive to the hospital, she would stay here forever if she could.

"i have to go" she whispered, feeling as if she spoke any louder then she would disrupt the peace they had created, she didn't pull away, as much as she knew she did have to leave she did not want to.

karl hummed in response, he too didn't pull away, he had missed her so much that he just wasn't ready to let hr leave yet.

"karl i really do have to go im sorry" eden told him glumly, happy that the rain that had soaked her hair dripped down her face disguised the tears that fell down her face slowly.

before karl could even ask her to stay, she pulled away, wiping her face with her wet sleeve.

"i'm sorry i didn't speak to you for a while, just know that i missed you and i love you" that's all she said before running off back into her house to quickly change her clothes, karl stood their shocked, he didn't even get chance to tell her he loved her back.
