Harlen
"Hey harls," Emerson called from the hallway, "are you guys out of TruMoo?"
"I don't know," I groaned, my face buried in my pillow, "do you see it in the fridge?"
I had been feeling like shit for the last couple of days, and had pretty much stayed in bed. Emerson threw my door open, causing me to jump at the sound.
"What'd you say," He asked. When I didn't respond he spoke again, "do you know if there's some in the fridge?"
I heard someone shuffle in behind him but, due to my face being in my pillow, I couldn't see who it was.
"Em. You would probably be able to tell if you looked."
"I did look." He said simply.
"What about up your ass," I snapped as I turned my body to look at him, and take in the sight of Remington, sitting at my feet, "did you try looking there?"
Remington let out a low whistle.
"Damn," Emerson scoffed, "I just wanted some TruMoo."
"Fuck your Trumoo." I grumbled.
"Harls!" Remington said sternly.
"I'm sorry," I said just above a whisper, "I'm just really exhausted, and in fucking pain right now."
"Ok," Emerson said awkwardly, "I'm gonna go to the store, and get some TruMoo. Is there anything I can get for you? Like maybe a heart, or a soul?"
I lazily rose my middle finger up at the man, warranting him to leave my doorway with a chuckle. After about a minute, Remington got up and pressed the back of his hand to my forehead, "Baby, you're burning up."
He disappeared for a couple of seconds, and when he returned, he had a damp washcloth in his hand.
"Here," He cooed softly as he laid the cool object over my forehead, "tell me what else is bugging you love?"
"My stomach," I sighed, "I'm having really bad cramps, and I feel a little nauseous. Probably about to start my period."
"Ok," Remington sat beside me on the bed, and kissed my forehead tenderly, "is there anything I can do to help you?"
I shook my head weakly in response.
"When's the last time you've had anything to eat or drink?"
"I had a glass of water this morning." I mumbled.
"That's all?" Concern laced Remington's voice.
He left my bedroom once again, this time, coming back with some saltine crackers, and a ginger ale.
"I don't even know if these will do anything but, my mom used to give this to my brothers and I when we were sick."
I sat up, and accepted his offering, truly realizing how hungry I was as I put the first cracker in my mouth.
"Thank you," My mouth was full as I mumbled the words, which caused Remington to let out a light laugh. I let out a small smile. It was really weird to be taken care of by someone, instead of taking care of someone, "what are you doing here anyway?"
"Well Jamie called and told me you weren't feeling well, and I figured I could stop by since I hadn't seen you today anyhow."
His words made me feel like he needed to see me, and that sent a sense of warmness through my heart. It felt good to feel needed, and wanted at the same time.
"You and Jamie call now?" I smirked.
"Yeah," He chuckled, "she's actually cooler than I ever knew she was."
