Currently, I find myself in the packhouse, engrossed in the news playing on the television, recounting the events that unfolded in Green Valley Village, right here in our pack territory. My hands are tightly clasped across my belly, trembling like a leaf, while I anxiously bite my lower lip. The reporter on the screen is speaking to the family that Eros saved that fateful night.

"I thought it was the end for us," the tearful mother confides to the camera. "My husband was nearly killed by a vampire, but suddenly, someone came to our rescue. We were saved by a magnificent creature, a large dog-like being. I'm not sure if they're called dogs, though. Based on what I've read in books, they might be werewolves. If that's the case, I am immensely grateful to one of them for saving us."

Overwhelmed by relief, I close my eyes as the mother refrains from making any negative comments about our kind. The male reporter inquires, "How big was this creature?"

"It was enormous, taller than a human," the mother replies.

A collective sigh of relief sweeps through the packed office. However, before any of us can utter a word, the attention of the reporters shifts to someone else. I tighten my grip on my lip, feeling the tension rise as Bella and Ethan step forward to face the camera. Could this be the reason they hadn't reported to Hildart earlier?

"You were among the survivors of the vampire attack caught on CCTV. A white werewolf saved you. Since you saw vampires and this white werewolf face-to-face, can you share with us what you experienced that night?"

I take a deep breath, struggling to steady myself as nerves consume me. Thankfully, I feel Eros's reassuring embrace on my shoulder.

"White wolf," Beta whispers, his gaze fixed upon me. "Is that you, Luna?" I am unable to respond, and Beta continues, knowing that Bella and Ethan are taking their time to answer on television. "Well, it's obvious since your human friends were the ones who saved the white wolf. It must be you."

"I was so terrified that night. I came close to being bitten by a vampire. I thought I was going to die," Bella cries, her shoulder held by Ethan. "The vampire moved with incredible speed, but the white wolf was even faster." I find myself perspiring as I watch her speak. "She saved me," she concludes, bursting into tears once again.

The lump in my throat grows, particularly when Bella mentions the word 'she.' The reporter seizes this opportunity and asks, "You referred to the werewolf that saved you as 'she.' How did you know it was a female?"

My heart races, especially as all the members of the Dark Moon pack council fix their gaze upon me. Tears stream down my face, and I turn my attention back to the television. Ethan responds, "Based on the color of her fur and her eyes, it was undoubtedly a female."

As Ethan gives his answer, a wave of relief washes over everyone. "He's astute!" Beta exclaims triumphantly. "He did the right thing!"

Laughter fills the room, and Eros enfolds me in a warm embrace, pressing a gentle kiss to my forehead. "As I said, they are your friends."

I join in the laughter, tears still streaming down my cheeks. Returning Eros's embrace, I revel in the joy of having survived the imminent disaster. Concerned about the CCTV footage capturing my transformation, I had feared Bella would reveal my secret. However, I am grateful that they have kept my identity concealed. I owe them my gratitude.

Eros switches off the television and addresses the pack council. "Did you witness that? As long as we continue to show kindness to people, they will perceive us as benevolent creatures."

Everyone listens intently to Alpha. He releases his hold on my waist and steps closer to the council members. "Let us persist in protecting them. Remember, if we fail to aid the humans, they may become our adversaries. I am certain the vampires will seek to form alliances with them."
