Our Shallow Past

An Unknown Comfort with you.

It was now lunch time. As a routine he and Adam went out to have lunch at a restaurant. Just when they entered the restaurant they saw Mira sitting alone and waiting for her order. Arun's face lit up. Adam could clearly see his face glowing more than a light bulb. He went towards her and greeted her. She's looked up and smiled at them. "Wow what a co-incidence." She said. "Ya right. It's like 3rd time now meeting." Arun said smiling constantly. Adam slightly kicked his legs to control Arun's expression. "Well we shall meet one day, not like a co-incidence though." She said. Arun laughed in an over excited way. "Wow this guy is so lame, I want to finish this drama and him as soon as possible." she thought preventing the cringe showing on her face.

After having their lunch, they came out from the restaurant and before greeting each other good bye they exchanged their cards and went away. Arun was more than happy just like a child who was given a whole box of chocolates.

When he was in his room he could stop looking at the card. He had already started to day dream about her and his date.

~Ya even I think he is cringy. You can imagine my face cringing on it while writing this. But what can be done this how  his character is.Ok now let's get back to the story ;)

Just when Arun was gazing at her card he got a call. His dreamy dream was broken by just a ringtone. He got up and looked at the phone with raging anger, so much which was more than enough to make a hole in it. He calmed himself and took the call. "Hello" He said

"Hello.. Arun...it's me Mira." She said. He got up on his feet.

"He...Hello Mira.... What Happened ? Is every thing ok?" He asked

"Ya.. every thing is fine. I just wanted to ask you something...are you free tomorrow?" She asked.

"Ahh... ya but why?" He asked

"Actually I have two tickets for a movie. Would you like to come with me. All my friends are busy and you were the only person I knew." She explained.

"Ya sure. Of course, why not? Who will reject this offer? Those friends are really dumb people. Don't worry I will come with you." He said with the fire of excitement.

On the other hand Mira was cringing over his words. But inside the very deep corner in her heart she was feeling good. But why? she questioned herself.

"Ok then. Come at the theatre by 4 o'clock." She said.

"Ok... I will be there on time." He said and suddenly both the sides went silent. Arun was smiling constantly on the other side where as Mira was waiting for him to cut the call.

"Ok then bye...". She said

"Ok bye.." he said but he didn't cut the call . This made Mira annoyed. She immediately pressed the cut button in anger. Just enough to make a dent on her mobile. and here on the other side Arun was still holding his phone near his ear with wide smile on his face.

It was 3 o'clock. Arun was waiting outside the box office waiting for Mira. Just for safety he came a hour before. Seriously, no one can defeat this guy in cringe. After a hour of infinite wait Mira came. She saw him from far and waved at her. His tired face instantly turned into a fresh morning face. As if he had just woke up from his power nap.

"Did you wait much?" She asked.

"Nooo.. its just 5 minutes me waiting here." He said with a wide smile.

They went inside and took their seats. It was an action film that they were watching. Mira loved action movies, specially with thriller and suspense in it. Movie started. Whenever there was something really thrilling they both jumped from their seats, holding their hands together. But they were least bothered about it as they were all into movie like kids.

When they both came out from the theatre all they were discussing was about the movie.

"Man the movie was awesome!!" she exclaimed

"Ya and when they said that the main killer was the female lead... it was so mind boggling. I literally wanted to shout out there." He said. But suddenly a sound interrupted them. It was growling sound from Mira's stomach. Arun chuckled.

"So... do you want to eat something. It's my treat." He said.

"Oh its ok I'm not hun..." as she was going to say her stomach growled again.

"But you stomach is hungry." He said controlling his smile.

"Ok then... yes I am hungry, but you should give the treat ok." She said.

"Of course. Lets go." He said.

They went in a local restaurant and ate all the junk food they could like they will never get after this. After their stomach and heart were filled they went in for awalk in the park. Sun had already went down from the horizon and half moon had already started to glow up in the sky. It was chilly out there. Arun took the opportunity and took off his jacket which he had worn and covered Mira with it.

"Are why this? I am not feeling cold." She said.

"But still its cold out and you might fall sic...ACHOO..." he sneezed out loud.

Mira smirked and took off the jacket and covered him. "I guess you are the one who needs it most now." She said.
He forced a smile on his face controlling his embarrassment. Just then his phone buzzed. It was Adam. Just then it struck his head. He had to submit an article tomorrow. "Mira I'll have leave for now. Thanks for the movie treat, bye." He said and rushed off without looking back at Mira.

Just then he stopped in his feet and turned back. He smiled and waved at her in a cute way which came out naturally from him. Mira blushed and waved him back. "How cute.." she muttered with a blush on her face. Just then she got a call. She took the call without looking at it.

"Hello Mira..how long will it take. It's already 8 now." Vijay said. She snapped out...She was all into enjoying her day with Arun. Even so she forgot about the revenge plan. "What has happened to me? I was all into his.... no no I don't want to fall into his trap. But what happened to me suddenly? I was so happy.....and comfortable with him" as she was thinking about it she a smile came on her face slowly. "Hello... Hello? Are you there... Mira?" Vijay was still on the call. "Ahh hello. Ya I am coming." She said and cut the call.
