Part 2 - She's my sunshine ( Dustin Henderson )

 TW: Arguments, fighting.

Mike's Pov: 

"What the hell dude?" I yelled at him while Will and Lucas were still distracting Y/n. 

"My sister? I told you all before I hated when boys liked her and she always used to refuse them too. Now, you ask her out! You've broke a rule and maybe even the party! How do you feel?" 

"Dude, calm down!" Lucas grabbed me and tried to split us up while Will stood hesitantly by the door, like he was considering of running. 

"I won't calm down! He broke the rule!" 

"So did you. So did I." Lucas stated calmly " This was going to happen someday, anyways." 

"Yeah, but it's my sister we're talking about."  He just didn't get it. 

"Yeah. Your sister.  Y/n is old enough to make her own choices plus it could bring us all closer so who knows? Maybe it is a good idea." 

"You sound like my parents. She's old enough. She'll be fine. She can fight her own battles."

"I will care for her Mike, honestly I will." Dustin said and I kind of lightened up a bit. 

"Y/n used to say that to our mum all the time." 

"What?" Dustin said. 

"I used to be mean to the boys who came near her and they didn't like me so I usually came home hurt with a mark of some kind. Ever since that day, whenever we went out, she always promised to care for me to make sure I didn't get hurt." 

"That's why I like her, Mike. Her selflessness, the way she just raises people's mood. It's inspiring. Like a little ray of sunshine in your life. El is yours, Max is Lucas'. She's my sunshine." 

"That was gross and sappy but I guess that shows you care. Fine, you have my blessing." 

Dustin jumped up and cheered while Lucas cheered as well. Will let out a sigh of relief.

Y/n Pov : 

You heard Dustin cheer from upstairs and knew Mike had let him off the hook. God, that was really lucky. 

Mike came down the stairs and as he walked past, muttered "There will be ground rules, remember that but you can date Dustin, I guess." Out of pure glee, you embraced him and span around, thanking him and you swear you saw him smile but he just rolled his eyes and patted you on the back. 

"Whatever makes you happy, sis." 

Will came down next. He smiled warmly at you before making his way over to Mike and patting him on the back reassuringly. Will had always been there for Mike through thick and thin and you appreciated him for that so much.

Lucas and Dustin came down together, laughing. Lucas elbowed him, signalled over to you, then wiggled his eyebrows and walked past you. He fist-bumped you before heading down to the basement. Dustin stood there, a faint pink dusting his cheeks as he waved at you and walked over. 

"So, I have Mike's permission so we can date now." 

"Couldn't we date before?" 

"Well-um I-umm I mean, we could and you could bu..." 

"I was joking, Dustin. We should probably get back now though before Mike accuses us of some other relationship stuff, you know?" 

"Yeak. Ok, let's go." 

And with that, you walked down the steps hand in hand and you swear a ray of sunshine shone on you two in that moment.
