Something surprising

In the Nemesis's control room, inside a hollow mountain...

Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave and only 5 of the 14 vehicons pass through the GroundBridge and get to the Nemesis. "Who the hell were they?!" yells a confused Starscream.

"I don't know," says Megatron, "But there is no time to talk about them. Soundwave!" Soundwave turns his head toward Megatron."Any news of Squadron 329?"Soundwave denies with a shake of his head, "Grrrr! If ever they return, they'll face my wrath!"

"My lord," interrupts Starscream, "If I may talk, I don't think they left Earth just for nothing."

"And what makes you think that, Starscream?"

Starscream points toward Soundwave, They just entered Earth's atmosphere."

Megatron looks at Soundwave's face. Five red points were coming toward the Nemesis.

"To the roof!"

Him, Starscream, Soundwave and other vehicons go to the Nemesis's roof. They see five seekers flying in a pentagon formation with a big rectangular box in the middle.

"Squadron 329! Over here!" shouts Megatron.

The five seekers transform into their robot mode and land with the box in front of Megatron.

"Can you explain all this? May I know the reason for all those months in which you have been absent?" He barely tries to refrain his anger.

"The answer's here, Lord Megatron," answers the seeker in the lead. Two seekers bring the hovering box and open it. Megatron almost jumps back in surprise.

"What the- ?! Is that- ?" Megatron can't even finish his sentence, choked up by the wave of feelings crashing down on him.

It's Tarn's body, or at least what was left of it. Most of the lifeless body is damaged and there are some burned parts. One arm looks almost destroyed, with only the inner structure visible, while the other arm and the legs are like the rest of the corpse. The mask, however, is half destroyed. The down part of the mask is in pieces but still attached to the rest of it.

"Yes, my Lord. It's Tarn. But dead," confirms the seeker, "There was also this besides him."

The seeker shows a green glowing shard of energon. Megatron goes quiet for a moment.

"How can I be sure that- Never mind. Shockwave!"

Silence stretches out, until Shockwave arrives on the Nemesis's roof.

"You called me, Lord Megatron?"he inquires.

"Yes. You see this?"

Shockwave sees Tarn's corpse. A beat of silence after, he turns toward Megatron and nods

"Fix him. I'll need him for... Let's say, 'further uses'. And take that green energon shard, I want to know what it is and how it works."

"Yes, my Lord," answers Shockwave.
