Something surprising

In the Nemesis's control room, inside a hollow mountain...

Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave and only 5 of the 15 Vehicons passed through the space bridge and get to the Nemesis. 

"Who the hell were they?!" yelled a confused Starscream.

"I don't know," Megatron said, "But there is no time to talk about them. Soundwave!" Soundwave turned his head toward Megatron."Any news of Squadron 329?"Soundwave denied with a shake of his head, "Grrrr! If ever they return, they'll face my wrath!"

"My lord," Starscream interrupted, "If I may talk, I don't think they left Earth just for nothing."

"And what makes you think that, Starscream?"

Starscream pointed toward Soundwave, "They just entered Earth's atmosphere."

Megatron looked at Soundwave's face. Five red points were coming toward the Nemesis.

"To the roof!"

Him, Starscream, Soundwave and other Vehicons go to the Nemesis's roof. They saw five seekers flying in a pentagon formation with a big rectangular box in the middle.

"Squadron 329! Over here!" Megatron shouted.

The five seekers transformed into their robot mode and land with the box in front of Megatron.

"Can you explain all this? May I know the reason for all those months in which you have been absent?" He barely tried to refrain his anger.

"The answer's here, Lord Megatron," the seeker in the lead answered. Two seekers brought the hovering box and opened it. Megatron almost jumped back in surprise.

"What the- ?! Is that- ?" Megatron couldn't even finish his sentence, choked up by the wave of feelings crashing down on him.

It was Tarn's body, or at least what was left of it. Most of the lifeless body was damaged and there were some burned parts. One arm looked almost destroyed, with only the inner structure visible, while the other arm and the legs were like the rest of the corpse. The mask, however, was half destroyed. The down part of the mask was in pieces but still attached to the rest of it.

"Yes, my Lord. It's Tarn. But dead," the seeker confirmed, "There was also this besides him."

The seeker showed a green glowing shard of energon. Megatron went quiet for a moment.

"How can I be sure that- Never mind. Shockwave!"

Silence stretched out, until Shockwave arrived on the Nemesis's roof.

"You called me, Lord Megatron?"he inquired.

"Yes. You see this?"

Shockwave saw Tarn's corpse. A beat of silence after, he turned toward Megatron and nodded.

"Fix him. I'll need him for... Let's say, 'further uses'. And take that green energon shard, I want to know what it is and how it works."

"Yes, my Lord," Shockwave answered.
