After escaping from the Nemesis, Spectra quickly ran inside one of the mountain's tunnels, which reminded her of the tunnel where the Other ones had appeared. She slowed her pace down to a walk, calming her breathing as she went through the tunnel, sure that the Decepticons wouldn't find her for a long while. After a while, she heard multiple quick footsteps and a voice yelling "Over here! This way!". Recognizing it as a possible Vehicon patrol, Spectra phased through one of the tunnel's walls with the intangibility device and landed in a parallel tunnel. She resumed her walk until she got to an out, finally in the open air.
"Oof," she sighed, "At least I'm safe."
She looked at her green shard of Energon, and at the tunnel she just left.
"I'll go back for you, Tarn," she promised
A loud noise made her jump, as if someone was destroying one of Nevada's big rocks. She approached in silence where the noise came from, only to see Grindor rubbing his hands while looking at a destroyed rock.
"Now that satisfies Grindor," he sounded satisfied with himself.
"Not him again," Spectra whispered to herself.
Grindor was Spectra's arch-nemesis. The two of them met each other for the first time when Spectra discovered the place where she took the green shard of energon. Grindor revealed to Spectra that he ate her parent's corpses after Megatron killed them. Spectra, angry, wanted to kill Grindor, but she was no match for him, so she fled.
Grindor stared right at Spectra, who hid too late, behind a giant rock.
Grindor walked towards the rock and destroyed it.
"There you are," he said to Spectra.
Grindor saw the green Energon shard and was ready to take it, but his attention turned to a groundBridge that appeared near him.
"What?"
From the groundBridge emerged Team Prime, all with a serious look.
Grindor started to mock them, "Well, if it isn't the usual Autobot team," he laughed, before noticing the presence of Wheeljack, Smokescreen and Ultra Magnus, "And with a little expansion added! Ha-ha!"
"Hope you enjoyed what you were doing." Arcee said as she activated her arm blades, "Because they're probably going to be your last actions."
"Ha!" Grindor snickered again, "You think you with your little expansion can beat Grindor? He has survived worse."
"Well," Wheeljack picked up, "get ready because we are going to be even worse."
"Well, Grindor's interest isn't towards you, but towards that." Grindor replied as he points at Spectra's green Energon shard.
"You again?" Bulkhead groaned.
"Yes, me again," Spectra said annoyed, "And I am in a place where I shouldn't be."
"Well, if you'll excuse Grindor," the cybertronian moved towards Spectra, "he's going to take that from you."
She tried to run away, but Grindor shot a little device from a little weapon on his arm. The shot landed in front of her and turns into a giant red energy dome that imprisoned not only Spectra but also Grindor, the Autobots and the groundBridge.
"Nowhere to go now. And don't bother with your intangibility device. It won't work."
But a blast landed on Grindor's back. He turned back to see that it is Bulkhead who did the shot.
"We're still here, donkey!".
Grindor stood quiet. The rotor on his back started spinning fast before Grindor took it and launched it at Team Prime, who scattered to avoid it. The rotor returned to Grindor's back as if it was some sort of boomerang. The fight that followed was very interesting: Even if Team Prime outnumbered Grindor, the latter was gaining the advantage in the fight due to his strength and durability. Spectra attempted, during the fight, to find a way out, but she couldn't find one because of the dome. It was then she spotted an underground hole that went under the dome. Grindor saw her at the same time she tried to escape through the hole.
"No you don't," he grunted.
He shot a missile that touched and destroyed the hole at the same time it pushed Spectra away and knocked her out. After that, Grindor received a foot kick from Arcee, though he didn't feel anything.
"Why? Can't? You? Die?!" Arcee fumed.
"Grindor is not phased by these feather-like prods you call fighting, you foolish Autobot," He replied impassively.
Pushing Arcee away, Grindor grabbed a huge rock and launched it at Team Prime, pushing them back into the groundBridge which closed right after
"And now..." Grindor's voice gained a smirking tone as he walked toward an unconscious Spectra, "You are next."
But as he stepped closer to her, the ground under them shook and the ground under Spectra started to fall apart taking her down with it.
"No!" Grindor roared as he saw Spectra falling down into the unknown.
