A few hours later we finally showed up at the bus stop where Miguel would’ve gotten off. Robby was still in a rotten mood, but I could see the cogs turning in his head the entire time dad was standing in line waiting to buy us tickets. I was torn myself, would Robby be pissed off if I stayed and looked for Miguel? Because I kinda wanted to, but at the same time, I wanted to stay with Robby, plus I really missed Eli and just wanted to go home. I think?

“Are you really gonna leave?” I asked, leaning against the hood of the car, Robby didn’t answer me

He didn’t answer me, so I turned around, and grabbed more gummies, trying not to let Robby see that I was smiling like an idiot in case that prompted him to make a hard decision. Just like I said people! Progress! I heard dad say thank you so I looked back over, seeing Robby walking towards dad with his backpack. I sighed and headed over myself, at a decent eavesdropping distance.

“Alright, the next bus leaves in a few hours” Dad told Robby “This’ll buy your ticket, this is for some drinks and snacks” Dad walked away instantly

“Dad, where are you going?” I asked, walking around the van

“Ticket guy thinks he saw Miguel talking to these surfers, I’m gonna go ask around” Dad turned around, but then turned back to us at the last second “Sorry I dragged you both into this, you especially Robby” Dad walked away to find those surfers

I sighed and leaned against the car, lightly banging my head against the door. I cracked my neck, which is never actually an audible crack anymore, it was more like shaking out my shoulders and shaking out my neck. I felt a Robby leaning against the car beside me, I turned my head to see him chewing on his lip in thought.

“He’s gonna get himself beat up” Robby mumbled

“Yup” I nodded, leaning my head on Robby’s chest “I should probably go save his ass”

“Yeah, probably” Robby nodded, giving me a pat on the back as I pulled away

“You coming idiot?” I asked, already walking away

“Just go save him, kay freak?” Robby deflected, making me smile

I spun myself around and looked around for dad. I saw him surrounded by the gang of surfers, one guy was standing behind him, and I saw his hands move, oh hell no. I quickly ran up, grabbing the guy by his arm and yanking the wallet from his hand, flipping him over himself into the sand for good measure.

“That’s a bad idea” I smirked, handing my dad his wallet back

“Thanks, but you beat me by one second” Dad muttered, I just rolled my eyes “Alright what’s the scam? Give me some bum address, try to steal my wallet?”

“No the address is real” the surfer dude assured “As for your money, I’m gonna end up with it either way mate, even with your little tight assed bodyguard”

“Gross”

“That’s my daughter you piece of shit” dad was seething, oh wow-

“Lemme guess Hemsworth, we can either do this the easy way or the hard way?” I crossed my arms over my chest, leaning on one hip

“Actually it’s either the easy way or the fun way, but to each their own” aussie asshole grinned

“Kay listen asshole, you have five seconds to tell me which way hat kid went, or I’m gonna take that surfboard and shove it so far up your ass your friends are gonna be surfing you”

“Okay” the guy cackled

“Alright?”

“The fun way, good”
