"I'm staying here tonight" I called out to Tobi. Although, she did not give any reaction to suggest that she heard me. she was quiet the entire ride to her house and i was beginning to worry about what exactly could make her this petrified.
She however, left the door opened which confirmed her lack of objection to my earlier declaration or maybe she is just so out of it that she isn't even aware of her environment. i went in shortly after her to find her curled up on the sofa.
"What is the matter with you?"
"Why have you been so out of it all evening?"
I don't want to believe it but considering when this mood started i had to ask;
"This has nothing to do with the call Tunrayo received does it?" All of my questions only fell to deaf ears as she still didn't reply me.
"Alright......I won't bother you anymore. Just know I am here in case you want to talk." I said standing up to find my way to her bedroom; I needed to have a shower.
I had just turned off the tap when I heard a cry from behind the door. It would appear that "little miss quiet girl" had finally reached her limit. So, I stepped out of the bathroom to find the mess that was Tobi on the bed. She burst into fresh wail as soon as our eyes met like she was waiting for me to look at her.
"he......hmph......hmph.......is coming.....baaaaack.......she said sniffling between words"
"who?" I asked going to hug her.
"Him; Tee....why is he returning?"
"Why now?" She continued, tears streaming down her face.
I didn't get the full story out of her but I was sure of one thing. She was crying over Toba and that whole quiet business was because of him
"Hmm Tee and Tobi I wonder what the story there is" I thought to myself as I held her in my arms. I wonder why nobody filled me in on this particular blank page. I am definitely seeking answers as soon as she is herself again I concluded holding a now quiet Tobi who was slowly drifting to sleep.

My phone rings and its Zeenah calling so I picked up and put it on speaker. I am Currently driving to work hence I couldn't put it to my ears.
"Hey babes." I called
"Gbemi, you missed ooo. you self why did you leave yesterday?"
"See this one ooo are you telling me I was the only one that noticed how Tobi was last night nii"
"Yes, she was being weird. Hope she is fine now sha??"
"Hmm...so wetin I miss?"
"Ah so.....the thing Tunrayo returned with from the Airport was actually Toba her brother."
"Annnnd" I said not getting the point of this gist cos I already suspected as much. more so since Tobi's outburst the Night before.
"Be chilling now......let me even ask was there a special reason why he left the country?" she asked and then continued to talk without hearing my reply.
"There was so much shout ehn; I think Tunrayo must have forgotten that she had guests over because ki a maa pa iro (to tell the truth) it was intense.
"Ehen, what could have caused all that."
"Something about how he left the country and could not even sit his butt down abroad, so that everybody can move on" and then she continuously screamed at him to stay away from her friend because she won't be put in the middle of his mess this time." Zee explained.
The thing between Tobi and Toba must be more serious than I thought was what came to mind as i replied Zeenah.
"Uhm Tunrayo just told me he had to move away due to some situation, she didn't say anything more. Now I suspect there is more to the situation. E no Ordinary at all."
"If you see ehn, it wasn't long after that we all decided to go to our own houses nobody even said good bye to Tunrayo."
"Maybe we could meddle a little during the weekend next week, over wine but only after you guys are done helping me plan mum's birthday."
"Yes ooo Gbemi Wine and Secrets Perfect combo" Zee said before ending the call.
I don't know about anyone else but i have every intention to get to the bottom of this. I can't just imagine what ordeal that guy put my friend through to have even his sister turn on him like that. boya mo de n exaggerate nii ooo.
