It's 10p.m now and i am just getting off work. atleast i got off early today, its all thanks to God that Mr. Hendricks is on a trip to visit our firm's headquarters at Abuja. I got into my car and drove home.
It was about an hour later when i got home; all thanks to lagos and the manacing traffic that comes with the bustle of the city. I live at a 4 bedroom condo-like apartment, alone ofcourse. Its so boring hear after a late dinner of peppered noodles and fried eggs i tried to watch tv but i ended up going to bed cos nothing interesting was on.
Waking up at about 7a.m i decided to eat out and drove to macy's; yeah i know its a five star restaurant and sooo worth every last kobo i spend there afterall its my money and i don't have to share it.
On getting there the concierge showed me to a nice seat by the window and the waiter soon came to get my order. I was waiting for my food when i looked across the room and saw a family with the littlest cutie messing around with his food;"How cuuuute i want that"
i thought......getting too depressing to watch, i decided staring at the window would be more interesting.
"ma'am your food" the waiter called at about 20 minutes later calling my attention back to the present.
I was just about finishing my food when my phone rang!!!
"ow it's mum" i absentmindedly said before ignoring it.
Dont judge me it just so happens that i dont want to ruin my morning cos it's always the same story with mumF. B two months ago (phone convo between mum and i)
Mum: "iwo omo yi igba woo gan lo ma mu oko wa le( when will you bring home a husband)"
Me: "mum i already told you husband will come when he comes won o sha kin ta oko loja(they don't sell a husband in the marketplace) "
Mum: "dont tell me that iwo lo ni nkan se (you are the the one who doesn't want to do anything) just this saturday three of my friend's children got married kini iwo wa n fi ori ro (what are you now thinking of with your head) "
F. B ends
Now you see why i am not picking my calls i left the restaurant and decided to go grocery shopping. I was just entering the mall when i saw tola; tola was my classmate in secondary school and i haven't seen her since 3years ago during our last reunion. Let me just tell you the bitch can gloat!!!
I pretended not to see her and quickly dodged behind the closest shelf.
I was about done with my shopping when i heard it......."Gbemi"
That was tola screaming my name in a high pitched voice; God i must have betrayed my country in my last life. How come nothing ever works out now i have to put up a fake smile and stand through an aggravating session with "SAY IT ALL TOLA".
So here i am three hours later sitting accross from her at an ice cream and coffee lounge and guess what??? i am still listening to Tola yap on and on about how great her life is.
Apparently she got married to the great Ex bad boy bachelor, son of business tycoon Akinkunmi Gold two years ago and how so in love they are, and oh they are also expecting a baby together........What's that about!!!! Oh well at least now we have an explanation to whatever happened to Olanrewaju Gold to warrant his total disappearance from the SOCIETY AND SCANDALS column."Lest i forget we are throwing a party to officially announce the baby's coming to our closest friends and relatives and you have to be there " Tola said as we got to her car.
"It's on Saturday night next week so you have no excuse not to come."
I didn't even think we were close friends yet i get invited??
Ow.......well i guess i have a reason to leave my house on Saturday now.
