Nunew's POV

Finally lunch break. I packed my stuff and hurried to the cafeteria. Luckily I could avoid standing in queue for long and grabbing my food I went to the table around the corner because I wanted to enjoy my food without any disturbance. But luck is never on my side. Someone jumped upon me spilling all food on the ground and my clothes. I turned around to see who the hell it was.

It turns out to be Nat. He stood there looking guilty. I could do nothing but sigh. "That's why I always tell you to come from the front not back. Now, look at this mess." I sat back hopelessly. "Oops! Sorry, na Nunew. I just wanted to surprise you." Nat sat beside me. "Yeah, you surprised me." I looked at the wasted food once again. I lost my appetite. "I'm sorry. Sorry, Nunew " Nat apologized many times looking worried that I was mad. "It's okay." I gave him a short smile enough to convince him I wasn't mad.

"I love you my best friend. By the way, P'Max had called me for a dinner. Will you go with me?" Nat holds my hand. I quickly pulled my hand away. "Silly why would I go on your date? I don't want to be the third wheel between you and your fiance." I'm not going to make a fool of myself. Also, your fiance looks like he is gonna kill me whenever I'm near you. "You silly, it's not a date. It is a business dinner and P'Max wants to introduce me to his business partner as his fiance." Nat turned almost red when saying that last part. "Still not going. I will be left out. I'm not even your siblings or cousin." I muttered. Nat seemed to be conflicted about finding the right words to convince me. "B-but I'm too nervous to go alone. Please na na na Nunew.." Nat held my hand and started to plead. "B-But...I..." I stopped midway talking. "Okay fine, I will go. But you can't do this every time. You need to be brave Nat. You are committed to a serious marriage with Khun Max. I can't always be there for you... I mean, of course, I will be there but there are things to be done by you only."

"I know. But... only this time pleasee. Nunew, my only friend, my soulmate please help me." Nat whined like a kid and I knew I couldn't deny him more like shouldn't deny. "O-Okay... fine I will go but let me ask Khun Zee if I can skip the tutor class for Fa Ying"

"So dutiful. it is only for today."Nat snorted. But I was quick to flick him on his forehead."Look at your attitude. I'm going there for you, Nat. I don't want to lose my job." I gave a few more hearings until he admitted his fault.

"Alright don't make that face. Let's go there's a basketball match between your major and mine." Nat followed me like a lost kid.

"It was a tiring day." I stretched out my hands getting out of the basketball court. "Yeah, Nunu I'll go to class and don't forget. Be ready at 8 pm I will pick you up." Nat pointed his fingers at me trying to look intimidating but he looks cute. "Okay, okay. I will be ready. Now, go."

I went back to my class to get my stuff since my last class was called off. On the way to my house, I called Khun Zee. Though I'm not sure if he will let me take a day off today.

"Hello!"

"Hello, Khab. Khun Zee"

"Oh, Nunew.Khun Zee can I request something from you."I shuttered biting my nails nervously.

"Yeah, Why not. What is it?" Khun Zee's said in a confident but soft voice.

"C-Can... I s-skip today's tutoring class... I-I mean...I-I have something important to do.S-So... Can I?"

"Is it that important?" I thought Khun Zee was mad so I panicked.

"Y-yea, No... I-I mean the kind of but I can do it later if you don't like me to skip." I heard a chuckling sound from the other side.

"No problem. You can skip."

"R-Really...?" was it that easy?

"Yes, for real. I need to attend a meeting so I will hang up."

"Khrab. Khob Khun Na Khrab, Khun Zee."

Phew! problem solved. Oh, I reached my place so fast today. Is it my lucky day today? My chains of thoughts were disturbed by the loud noise coming from inside the condo room. "What's that sound? A person but no one has the key to my room? Ghost....? No, no it can't be. Then... A Thief!!!" I was visibly panicked. "What do I do? Callpolicebut what if there's no thief." I debated whether to go or not but decided to go. I slowly entered my room and picked up whatever hard object I found near. *Clang* loud noise came from the kitchen as if something dropped on the floor. I walked to the kitchen stealthily. When I got near, something near the counter was moving.

"Meow" Huh??? Meow?

I hurried to look at the other side of the counter. "Phew, It's a cat... Cat ... Cat?" I looked at the floor again and it definitely was a cat but I don't own one. I glanced at the neck of the cat to find if there was a chain but there was nothing. So, I assumed that it was a stray cat. Looking at me the cat looks so thin and malnourished. I felt sad seeing it so weak and decided to give it a bowl of milk. I went to shower and get ready for the dinner party leaving the cat in the kitchen.

Nat arrived to pick me up after a few minutes I was ready. Then we went to the hotel where the party was organised. Eventhough I was not used to attending parties and I'm a nobody so I usually never get to attend also. But I tried my best to make myself comfortable in the middle of high-class people. Nat was beside me holding my hands and I knew he was nervous. When Khun Max reached out to him to introduce his business partners Nat was abundant to bring me along but I refused because I feel like an outsider shouldn't meddle in someone's business. Though I'm his friend I have no connection in their business and I'm not needed. I managed to convince Nat to go without. After Nat was out of sight I went outside because I was suffocated inside. It looked like there was a garden near the building; wanting to get some fresh air I walked to the garden.

When I was in the garden I realized someone else was there too. A man silhouette with broad shoulders; the exact type that looks handsome even in the dark. I was so lost in taking in every part of the silhouette, I was startled when the man turned around suddenly. And shocking to me, It was Khun Zee!!!
