Harry- 22

~A Few Days Before November~

Harry POV:

Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays. This year, however, the real life evil started a few days prior to Halloween.

** Flashback to the conversation on the plane- the day of the break-in:

Jeff and I spent an hour on the phone with the lead detective while still in the air. Thankfully the break in happened at my old house- the same house that it happened at before. I know that shouldn't bring me comfort, but it did make me fucking thankful that I bought the new house. Even better, a house nobody knows I bought and that nobody has the address to. At least not yet.

The housekeeper was only coming to the house to prepare it for Anna's family to come and stay. Obviously, that is not happening anymore. Thankfully, she was only minorly injured, but a police report had to be filed, so of course news of ANOTHER break-in will now be blasted across the internet.

Anna was nowhere near that house at the time, but the police informed her of the incident at her office. Which lead to a rather interesting phone call mid-conversation with the detective. Jeff and I decided to go straight from the airport to AR Harris to get Anna and bring her to the station with us.

**End of flashback- Now at the Police Station.

"Mr. and Mrs. Styles, thank you for coming in. We just need to get Anna's statement about her whereabouts for the day."

"Why do you need to know where my pregnant wife has been today?" I seethe, hating the insinuation that this has anything to do with Anna.

"Sir, it is just standard protocol with break-ins. We already know your whereabouts this morning."

"I was at work, at AR Harris. I arrived shortly after seven am."

"And did you leave the residence prior to heading to work?"

"No, actually we-"

Jeff interrupts, "-I think we should call someone from legal to join us. Anna, please stop talking."

"What? Why?" I ask Jeff, confused.

"I just don't think it is appropriate to continue without someone from legal present." Jeff adds, stopping all discussion about the break-in while we wait the twenty minutes it takes for some suit to show up and join us.

The detective continues, "So, Anna, did you leave the residence this morning?"

Anna looked at the representative. "I wasn't at that house this morning."

"What do you mean?'

"We have another residence in London," I answer for her.

"And what is the address of that residence?" the officer asks, pulling open his laptop to type something. Luckily the suit from legal intercepts his request.

"For obvious reasons, the Styles' have chosen to keep their new address private, which is perfectly legal. Considering the intrusion did not happen at the residence in question, it would be unnecessary for us to give out that information."

I am grateful that Jeff called someone in. The detective rolls his eyes at the answer, then continues. "With all due respect, I am simply trying to keep them safe at both locations, and I can't do that if I don't know where else this person might try and have contact with Mr. or Mrs. Styles."
