Anna 2- CHAPTER 33

*** We are going to jump through quite a few months over the next couple chapters. Harry will be on tour (and we have done a lot about him being on tour :) and Anna will be getting everything set up in New York for Bumble. Just make sure to check the dates for each section, so you aren't confused.

~June 19th, 2018~

Anna POV:

We have been living in New York full-time for about three weeks now. It has been a little bit of a disaster getting everything started here. First, the board had to approve our designs, which required SEVEN redraws. The most worrisome portion of the project for the grey-haired stiffs that make up the board was the addition of the home recording studio. The soundproofing had to be certified through three different independent companies and special contractors had to be hired to redo the electrical to the space that would house the studio. I won't even tell you how much this has added to the original purchase price and renovation budget.

Harry has taken it all in stride. Really, what else could he do though? We moved here shortly after Harry left for his Latin America leg of tour. In an attempt to not piss off Jeff, I tried to keep the complete disaster unfolding at the property under wraps in order to keep Harry focused on his job while I tried to do mine. I only told him the details when he was required to sign his approval for something or when I had to spend another $90,000 to re-structure the floors and ceilings in the studio space for soundproofing.

When we moved to New York, Marit had to leave us to go back to work for the family she has been with while their children are home over the summer. We tried our best to entice her to stay, but she felt it unprofessional to leave her other family with so little warning. This fall, however, when their children return to boarding school, she will be joining the Styles tribe as our permanent second nanny. This thrills everyone, because we all think the world of her, but I think that Viveka is probably the most thrilled of all of us.

Harry hasn't been religiously adherent to the 'not apart for longer than fourteen days' rule, but he has been damn close. He has only had a problem holding up his end of the bargain because Jeff didn't plan for long international flights or stage rehearsals prior to each leg of tour. There was also a amendment put into place for Asia and Oceania. It made no sense for him to fly home between those two, so that made his time out for that leg closer to three weeks, but I got a week off with him between Asia and Latin America to make up for it. He spent that week helping me pack and organize for New York. We also hosted Alessandro and Harry Lambert for a few nights in L.A. to get everything ready for the North American leg of tour.

Since the dining room, and our office, had been taken over by a combination of the New York build and Bumble crap, the guest house was the best space for Lambert and Ale to take over as a styling space. The amount of custom Gucci in the little house was the stuff of most peoples dreams, but to me it just added to the chaos surrounding us both trying to have successful careers and maintain some sort of family life. We literally just brought all of our work home.

"Darling, we need you," Harry called from the guest house as Viv and I were swimming with August.

I got out of the pool and walked into the space, completely overwhelmed by the amount of glitter, sequins and heeled boots taking over the racks and floors all over the living room space. Harry was standing there, with his hand on his hips, staring over the lot of it. "How can I help with this?" I asked, confused as to my place.

"Well, you are only coming to a few shows this leg of tour and I want to avoid wearing your favorite suit for a night you are not at." He said and I suddenly got overwhelmed.
