Gone To Hell...

"Where were you all night?" I nearly jump out of my skin when I hear Nat come up behind me as I approach the elevators at the hotel the next morning after leaving Steve.

"I just got up early for a run Nat, nothing else."

"That excuse might work on your dad but I trained you. I know you hate running. Where were you, really?"

"I can't. If you know, you'll have to arrest me."

"You went to see Steve, didn't you?"

"I'm not answering that."

"There's more to it than that. I'm guessing that if I were to go check the shield and wings would be gone too."

"And I'd say it was unfortunate that the government has already misplaced its new toys."

"I just hope you know what you're doing." She says before walking away.

"Me too." I whisper as the elevator doors shut behind me. I enter our room and am shocked to see that Dad is not alone. We stare at each other like deer caught in headlights. "Who're you?"

"Peter Parker, Miss Stark." The kid says, standing up and reaching out to shake my hand.

"Hi. What is he doing here?" I ask, turning to Dad, ignoring the gesture.

"We need more people."

"So you brought a fetus?"

"Look what the fetus can do." Dad says, rolling his eyes as Peter started to climb the walls.

"So you brought the Exorcist?"

"I'm Spider-Man, actually."

"You've brought a high schooler over, halfway across the world, to fight against 2 super soldiers, an ex-army flyer and whoever else they managed to get on their team."

"Wanda was taken from the compound last night by Clint. They're on their way here now." Dad says quietly.

"I swear to God if any of them get hurt because you're too stubborn, I'll never forgive you." I head to the bedroom.

"Suit up. You're coming too."

"Absolutely not. I'm not going to help you arrest my friends."

"I didn't say you were going to fight. You're guarding the jet."

"Oh I am?"

"Yes, because I can't trust you to stay here and not run off." I scoff at this, rolling my eyes before heading to my room to change.

...

The sounds of the fighting outside were making me antsy. Of course they couldn't come to an agreement. That would be too easy. I wince as I hear Wanda cry out before my head snaps up as the building starts to shake and the entrance starts caving in. I instinctively bring my hands up, doing my best to keep the building from falling in around me. I don't succeed and the tower falls.

As the smoke clears, I see Steve and Bucky. "You need to get out of here." I tell them, bringing my hand and using my power to stop T'Challa in his tracks behind them, before knocking him out.

"He's going to tell them what you've done." Steve says, approaching me as Bucky runs to the jet.

"I'm already going to be in deep shit when they realize I'm also the one that took your shield back."

"Please be safe."

"I always am. It's you who needs to be careful. You don't know what's waiting for you in Siberia and you only have each other for back up."

"I will be. I love you."

"I love you too." I whisper and he pulls me to him, kissing me before he runs to join Bucky.

I watch as they fly off. "Ross will hear about this." T'Challa says, having regained consciousness.

"That's fine. There's more to this story, details that you do not know." I reply before walking out to see how everyone else faired. Dad is kneeling in a field, Rhodey laying in the dirt in front of him. "Is Rhodey ok?"

"Where is Rogers?"

"Gone. Is Rhodey ok?" I turn and see Sam on the ground, his chest plate smoking. "What did you do?" I run over and slap his face, waking him up. Before he can respond we're surrounded by special forces. They take Sam away and Rhodey is loaded into an ambulance. I look at Dad and sigh. This had gone to hell.
