You still dream about that day. The day your heart got broken but gave you this indescribable motivation and drive to move forward with your life. That day is what made you work hard on your dreams. You now own your own business and model part time. You made all your dreams come true and have been making other dreams come true as well.
You did keep tabs on the boy who break your heart many years ago in high school. He's an idol now and it's seems like he's doing good. You didn't hate him like everyone thought you would. It was the opposite you were thankful at the end of the day you were successful because of him in a way.
You had wanted to reach out and have lunch with him, but every time you typed out the message you would delete it not knowing if it was the right time.
Recently all the members in his group had come out with their relationship except him. You were watching the interview when your assistant and best friend walked in with a pale face.
"Everything okay?" You asked as she walked over to sit by you.
"Are you watching the interview?" She looks at your screen as you nod in reply.
"Have you watched it already? I know I'm late but-" she quickly cut you off by pressing play and pointing on the screen.
"So Scoups... you are the only one not in a relationship... why is that?"
"Well to be completely honestly... I've been in love with someone since high school. The last memory I have with her is actually breaking her heart. She wanted to give up everything to be with me but I didn't want that for her. I loved her too much to let her do that. I hear she is super successful now and I hope to meet her again soon. Hopefully she doesn't hate me and we can at least be friends"
You shut your screen and looked at your assistant with a blank face.
"You don't think... no it can't be... but could it... no he's probably forgotten all about me!" You spoke out loud while staring at your assistant.
"What are you gonna do? We both know deep down he is talking about you whether you want to deny it or not." You shook your head and stood up pacing in your office. You didn't want to get your hopes up but at the same time the irony was uncanny.
"Maybe I should finally message him and meet up you know...? Or would I sound too desperate? I don't know I'm freaking out now!" Your assistant sat there just staring at the door way. You were way too nervous to turn around when her mouth dropped.
"I don't think that will be necessary... I need to go finish that one thing you gave me..." she laughed awkwardly and ran out to her office.
"It's been a while (y/n)" the extremely familiar voice hit your ears and caused the hair on your arms to rise.
"Seungcheol?" You whisper before turning around. His smile was as big and beautiful as you remember. Once both your eyes met... those feelings you thought you didn't have anymore all of a sudden returned.
"Wow not many people call me that anymore" he chuckled closing my door and walking in.
"Well now you seem to go by Scoups" you stated looking him up and down. He was much stockier and muscular than you remembered.
"Well Ms. Founder & CEO you are the only person that can call me anything an I would respond..." silence fell over us as we stood a few feet away and stared at each other. Taking in all the years we have gained.
"We have both come a long way" you whispered looking down at your feet.
"Why didn't you message or call me?" He whispered taking one step toward you.
"I tried but nothing seemed good enough... I didn't seem good enough..." he took your hand and brought it up to his lips. He kissed the top of it gently before letting it fall at your side but with his fingers still tangled with yours.
"Do you know why I said what I said back in high school... it was because everyone was voting for you to fail. Everyone was trying to go against you and I knew you had it in you to do whatever you set your mind to. I wanted you to succeed and I tried everything possible to help you from a far. I loved you so much I wanted you to do your best and I am so proud of you!" You but your lip and looked down at both your hands connected.
Your heart beat so fast and your skin tingle. You felt like you were in a foggy daze with just the two of you there.
"You know I don't hate you... I never could. My heart after all these years wouldn't allow it. I am actually thankful. Even though it hurt for a while... I wanted to do everything possible so when I called you I would have proven to you I wasn't the little girl you rejected back then." He shook his head not wanting to think about that.
He took another step towards you and guided your chin up to look at him. His hand rested on your cheek with his thumb caressing the soft skin and the rest of his fingers gently resting behind your ear.
"I don't want you to think of that ever again after today... it hurt to see you broken like that but I knew if we truly loved each other like we though back then... then in the future when we reunited it would still be there." You put your hand on top of his looking deep into his eyes.
"Seungcheol" you whispered as his eyes flickered from between your eyes and your lips. His lips were only a few small centimeters away from yours.
"Do you still feel the same way... I totally understand if you don't" his eyes fell as he started to pull away from you. You stopped him by pulling him all the way in and crashing your lips against his.
"I hope that answers your question" you chuckled as he pulled you closer to his body kissing you deeper.
