{}{}{}"They kept Naksu's body here in this secret room. Hey Jang Wook, did you notice anything suspicious while hiding in Jeongjingak?" The brunette girl placed her hands on the table staring down at it. If only she had been allowed to hold her and touch her face. She wanted nothing more but to apologize and tell the girl how much she meant to her. She never got to say goodbye before and not even now. Taking a small shaky deep breath in, she fought tears. Tears she's been holding back and ready to be spilled. Mudeok's eyes landed on the girl who hasn't uttered a word since they walked to the secret room. She remained silent and lost in thought. Nari thought of her best friend's smile and laugh trying to forget about the empty feeling inside her. "That Naksu must've been a monster."
"Stop that, she was a human being."
"No, she was human like all of us." Both Yul and Nari spoke at the same time. Danggu and Wook looked at Yul while he faced the brunette girl who continued to stare at the cold table. She played with the ring around her finger. She traced over the butterfly wings, her heat ache of pain. She just wanted to let all out, cry and scream knowing her loved one was gone. Wook took a step to the side trying to make his way around to her but Yul had beat him to it. He placed a hand on her small back, patting her back just like her mother used to. "Let's not speak of the dead even if she was an assassin." The girl was pulled out of her endless thoughts feeling his warm hand on her. She couldn't tell if he's being genuine and comforting her or it was all an act. Yul wasn't one to show affection towards the other neither was she but she always showed people she truly cared for them. No one really knew that their engagement was a lie apart from Choyeon. She promised Nari a long time ago she wouldn't tell a living soul.
"Actually uncle Jin mentioned something earlier. Is it true you've mastered the sight? Can you really see someone's memories after they've died?" The girl instantly froze, her eyes widened in fear. She hoped nobody would find out about it until the right moment. Everyone's eyes were on her heading Danggu speak. She gulped, ringing her fingers through her hair and she didn't make eye contact with anyone. She avoided everyone's gaze. That wasn't something to be proud of, well not to her. She hated seeing the last moments/memories of someone before they died. It might not mean much to others but it traumatized her to the point she couldn't sleep. Being able to see the last moments of Naksu only scared her. The room had gotten silent. They all waited for her to speak of what she had seen or to confirm the rumor. Yul's look down at her hand watching it turn into a fist.
He's the only one apart from Master Park and Heo Yeon that knew she could see someone's last moments. The cold hearted boy moved his hand down to reach her hand. Holding her hand he rubbed his thumb over the back of her hand. "Forgive me, Master Heo Yeon wants to see you." A guard bowed his head to them announcing it. Mudeok's eyes stayed glued on the fragile girl in front of her. Although she acted strong she was aware deep down she's screaming for help. Wook glanced at the girl seeing the state she's in. "You three go, I don't like the old man anyways." Nari nodded her head, and she proceeded to walk out the room without looking back once. Her hands shook, biting her lower lip she rushed into a nearby room. Closing the door she leaned against the door with tears rolling down her face. Her chest rose and fell with every breath she took. Wiping away the few tears that escaped she tried to get her breathing back to normal. Her lips shook with every breath, fixing her hair she was able to calm herself down.
