When I woke up, the sun was shining through my window, and i could hear birds singing. I had a beautiful day ahead of me, and I was going to enjoy every bit. As I got up to get dressed, someone knocked on my door.
"Little sis ? Can i come in ?"
It was Enoch, my brother. I asked him to wait a little, since i was not dressed yet. At that moment, i felt like something had hit me on the forehead. I had a terrible headache, but it only lasted a few seconds.

I ignored it, and picked out a light blue dress that i put on as quickly as i could to not keep my brother waiting. I opened up my door, and Enoch smiled at me. "Ready ? It's time to go down for breakfast."
When we arrived at the dining room, Victor got up and pulled the chair next to him so i could sit down.
"Did you sleep well, love ?" He asked, with a smile.
"Oh yes, i slept like an hibernating grimbear."

"Bruntley ! Get your metal-bending hands away from  my sister." Said my brother.
"Oh, throw yourself off a cliff to see if you can raise yourself." Answered Victor.

"Boys ! Stop bickering like kindergarteners. This is really not necessary. Just.. stay friends, like you've always been." I said, trying to calm them down.
As we started eating i suddenly felt very nauseous, and my headache was back. I leaped out of my seat, and ran out of the dining room, ignoring my brother and my boyfriend.

My stomach was aching so badly i almost felt like something was biting my insides. I was trying to get to the bathroom in time, but the pain was so intense that i collapsed in the corridor.

I awoke in my bed, the pain in my head making things all blurry. I could see that two people were standing beside my bed, and slowly my consciousness came back and i was able to hear what they were saying.

"If you stopped choking her with all your protectiveness, this wouldn't have happened. I'm sure she got sick of you and all your 'she's my sister' nonsense." Said a voice i recognized as Victor's.
"Well let's see how you like it if i start snogging with your sister every night." Answered my brother, obviously irritated.

However, their arguing stopped when they noticed i was awake. They both knelt down next to me, asking if i was okay and if how i felt. Then Millard entered to reassure my brother and my boyfriend.
"So, Kitty, before you fainted, did you have a headache or stomachache of some sort ?" He asked.
"I had both. And i was feeling nauseous." I answered.

"Judging by this and your fever, you probably have some Stomach flu. It's an infection in the intestines. It has an incubation period of 1 to 3 days, during which no symptoms occur. Once symptoms appear, they usually last for 1 to 2 days, although symptoms may linger for as long as 10 days. It's often called a stomach bug as well." He explained.

Suddenly, Claire burst in, shrieking "What! Kitty has a bug in her stomach ? What is it ? An ant ? A spider ? I don't like spiders !" She seemed to be on the edge of crying. Bronwyn walked in and scooped Claire up in her arms. "Shhh, shhh... don't cry sweetie. Kitty doesn't have spiders in her stomach, a stomach bug is just the name." She said in a low voice. She walked out, closing the door behind her.

"How long have i slept ?" I asked, a little bit dizzy.
"For quite a few hours." Answered Millard.
"Let's just say that you missed both lunch and dinner." Added Victor.
At that moment, Miss Peregrine entered, and kicked everyone out of my room.
"How do you feel, miss O'Connor ?" She asked.
"I'm a little dizzy... and i have a slight headache too."
"Go to sleep, we'll see how you feel tomorrow morning. Sleep tight." She adjusted my blanket, before walking out, closing the door behind her. I quickly fell into a deep dreamless sleep.
