Cardin had very much a bad start on the history class. However, the universe seems to have taken a turn towards him soon after.
He just so happens to have heard a conversation between him and Pyrrha in which Jaune very much snapped. Now the leader of JNPR was at his pinky finger because of the blackmail.
While he was sure no one knew, he did understimate Kumagawa's perception. Both the minus and Ruby were looking at Jaune leaning on the door of his team's door outside while looking at the floor like a man on his death's door.
Ruby:Jaune? Are you inside camping or...
Jaune:I messed up. I did something I shouldn't have and now Cardin has something over me. Pyrrha won't even talk to me. I'm a failure.
Ruby:Hm...Nope!
Jaune:Huh?
Ruby:You're a leader, Jaune. You're not allowed to be a failure.
Jaune:But...What if I'm a failure as a leader?
Ruby:Nope!
Jaune:...You're not the easiest person to talk about this with.
Ruby:So I've been told.
Kumagawa:[Do you give up on being a Huntsman?]
Jaune:What? No! That's...Being a Huntsman is my dream. I can't give it up.
Kumagawa:[Well, in that case you really don't have a choice. I'd give some subjectives for your situation, but someone has found it her goal to make a fortune out of people describing how bad life can be.]
Ruby turned her head promptly and began to whistle innocently. He might be right, but she shall not stop the swear jar!
Kumagawa:[Ruby-chan, can you please leave? Me and Jaune-chan need to have a man talk.]
Ruby:'Kay, gotta go before you start talking about body odors!
Ruby used her Semblance and went to team RWBY's door as fast as her ability allowed her to. Kumagawa chuckled at her thoughts of what a man talk is.
Kumagawa:[Adorable. So, I suppose he found out you cheated to get in.]
Jaune:How did you...
Kumagawa:[Please, it was obvious. Granted, it's not entirely your fault. If people didn't give you the thought of day, then no one trained you so you could have the necessarie skills.]
Jaune:Aren't you...Aren't you gonna hold it against me? Tell me what I did was wrong.
Kumagawa:[Why should I? At the end of the day, you can't alwais to things clean to achive your war. Wars weren't won, kingdoms weren't created and groups weren't united just because people were fair. Ah, but I think I have a way to help you out a little.]
Jaune:You're gonna help me.
Kumagawa:[No. Kujira-chan is a spectacular trainer. Let's hope you do good.]
Jaune:Hehe, you make it sound like I'll die.
Kumagawa:[You'll wish you had.]
Jaune:Oh...
The next day everyone was brought yo the Forest of Forever Fall. Kumagawa was admiring the red surroundings wondering if he could di the same if he soaked a place in enough blood.
Glynda:Yes, children. The Forest of Forever Fall is a beatiful place, but we're not here for sight seeing. Professor peach gas asked you to procure mosters of the trees deep in the forest and I'm here to assure that none of you die while doing so.
