I wake up and run errands and head out to the Ice cream shop to meet up with Rylee and Dash
When I get there they are both waiting outside and I feel like I'm late
"Hey guys sorry I'm late" I say already feeling like I'm fucking up
"Its no worries we arrived early Dash say hi" she says
"Hii it's nice to see you again" dash says waving
"Hey bud whats your favorite ice cream?" I ask him
"Mhmm that easy cookies and cream mommy's boring she only like vanilla" Dash says laughing
"Hey that doesn't make me boring I just like vanilla it taste good better then your flavor choice" Rylee says
We walk in and Dash runs to get his ice-cream and I feel Rylee turn towards me
"How are you feeling about telling him?" she ask
"I'm a little nervous but excited oh and I spoke to my parents" I say
"How did that go?" She asked
"My mother is really a piece of work I won't dwell on it now but she probably won't have anything to do in Dash life but my dad it was different surprisingly" he says
"I mean you don't owe me the full story but I can tell it hurt you well she did and I'm sorry but I'm glad you had a break through with your dad" Rylee says
"She did its hard to love someone you admiréd your life and then notice how ugly and revolting their thoughts and things that come out of their mouth" I say
"Yeah it hurts and I'm sorry you have to go through that but sometimes it's needed for growth and to get better" she says
"I never asked you about your parents?" he said
"Oh i mean they are cool have been married for 35 years my mom is a nurse and my dad Is a lawyer he always has to say the last word" she says laughing
"They know Dash? and sounds like you have a great relationship with them!" I say
"Oh yes he spends time with them multiple day throughout the week even wants to sleep over sometimes and yes we do they have always been there for me their the family I got and they are good" she says
"Mommy I'm ready" Dash yells and we walk over and Henrie pays for all 3 ice creams and we walk to the tables
When we sit Henrie looks at me with a nod to start the conversation
"So Dash I invited Henrie to come with us to have ice cream I thought you two should get to know each other" she says
"Are you my mommy boyfriend? Is that why we are here?" Dash ask
"No!" we both say to quickly
"I'm your mommy's friend but um I'm closer to you I knew your mom Ashley" I say
"How did you meet my mom?" Dash asked
I knew her years ago when I was younger she and me were good friends I say nervously Dash looks at me with questionable look
"So you're my dad aren't you!" Dash says
"Yes I am and I'm glad to be your dad Dash" I say
"Why did you wait so long to meet me I asked for you before?" Dash says
My heart and head crushes this is all my mother's fault look at the pain my kid and myself are in
I think
"I didn't know about you but I promise Dash i want you and I want to get to know you and hang out and do fun things" I say
"OK I guess but if your my dad are you trying to take me away from mommy I don't want to leave i want to stay with her" I say
"Dash sweetie you aren't leaving me I promise!" she says
"Dash I'd never make you leave your mom I promise you that I just want to be your dad" Henrie says
"Okay I hear you!" he says but still gripping on to his mom
"I'm having a barbecue tomorrow and id like both of you to come my family will be there Dash you can meet my nephew Rome he's your age" Henrie says
"Can we go mom Id like to meet my cousin?" Dash asked
"Sure we'd love too!" Rylee says
Dash goes and plays at the park next to the Ice cream shop leaving me and Rylee and me together
"How are you feeling tough day? And he's really exited to meet other kids the other day he asked me for a sibling I almost passed out" she says
"Haha yes but I'm happy he knows I just hope I can he will see that I want to be his dad and always be here for him and wow that's crazy I would've rolled on, the floor laughing one kid is already alot but he really loves you riley you did a good job " I say
"He will just be good to him that's all he needs from his dad and he really does come with great jokes and thank you" Rylee says smiling
"Yeah that I will do um should we figure out a schedule of me seeming him" I say
"Yes tomorrow at your barbecue we can talk before it starts or after" she says
"Yeah that works" I say and she calls Dash over
"Dash it's time to go!" she says and they both look at me
"Bye Henrie" dash says and gives me a hug I wish he said dad but I know itll come with time at least I got a hug
"Bye buddy I'll see you tomorrow okay" I say and he nods
When i get home I shower and then open the TV and make sure everything is ready for the barbecue tomorrow when I realized with all the crazy news I haven't checked my phone or anything today so I do that answered my unanswered text and look at my emails and smile when I see it's from her I hope it's good news,

That is a very specific wish you want for your birthday and it's honestly very scary but yes I'll meet you at a Resturant since it's your birthday I could never pick you say the place and time it's been a year and I've been scared but excited to meet you to finally put a face to the amazing man I've spoken too happy early birthday love I hope you'll like the gift I still got youI can't wait to finally meet you have a good night :)
