I wake up on a sleeping Zuko. I jolt upwards and my head immediately regrets it. What if Aang saw?? Not that what happened meant anything...I don't feel anything for Zuko. I don't think.
I walk over to Toph and Sokka and Aang.
"Goodmorning," Toph says.
"Sleep well?," Aang says with a glare.
"Honestly no, but I need some time alone. "
"Aren't you at least hungry?," Sokka squeaks.
"Not really," I say
"I know what you are hungry for," Aang comments.
My face feels hot as I turn around and walk away. Zuko gets up and walks over to me. He smiles and his scar moves up.
I want to be nice to him. I so do. But everyone's pressuring me and I'm about to regret what I do.
"Sleep well?," he asks.
"Yeah of course you'd ask that,"
"Sorry, I should have helped you to bed, but I was afraid with your thoughts-
"Stop! You are my friend, not my boyfriend! You can help me out, but for the love of God don't cater my every need and crowd around me all the time!!! You yourself said I need space so leave me the hell alone!!" I take a deep breath.
"Right," Zuko says.
He shuffles away slowly and I march off without a single regret. That is, until 2 minutes later.
That was almost the bitchiest I've ever been.
"Zuko, what did I do to you? And Aang..."
I look around to where I ran away to. I certainly didn't know the place. It was sort of a forest swamp thing with a dirty small pond in the middle.
I dip my bare feet in the pond. It's mucky and warm and slimy. I shake off the excess water and plug my nose.
I just got to this place and already want to leave. So much for time alone. I don't get how I couldn't know this place even though it wasn't that far.
I find a small pathway and follow through it, hoping for an exit.
It wasn't.
After a couple miles, I stopped walking and layed down on the dirty path. Now I was hungry. My stomach rumbles and my tongue thirsted for water.
"HELP!!" I scream.
Nothing. I don't bother to scream again, if someone didn't hear that scream, they would never find me.
I clench my fist tight and gather some water droplets in my hand.
I follow the small trail of droplets to find where the water is, and I'm led to a huge waterfall. I scream with joy and jump take off my tights and blue jacket.
I leap into the water and dance with joy.
Using my fingers and palms, I direct the water from the waterfall straight up into the sky as a help signal. If they can't hear me, I hope to God they can see me.
I wait quietly in the water for probably an hour before I hear rustling.
"Aang?? Sokka?? Toph???" I ask.
"Sorry to disappoint you," Zuko says, entering the Forrest.
"I'm not disappointed at all. But... Aang didn't come?," I ask.
"He refused to come. I don't know why- well I do, but...Sokka didn't come because he was afraid of bugs and Toph because, well, she's blind,"
I force a nervous laugh. "Of course,"
I swallow hard. He refused to come? That's just...
"Come on I'll get you out of here so I don't have to bother you anymore," he says.
"Zuko I'm so sor-"
"It's okay. I get it. Now let's go"
My heart feels on fire but my brain feels frozen. And just when I thought the day couldn't get any worse, it did.
