Halfway through the train ride we put on our robes and got ready to arrive at Hogwarts. I could sense everyone's excitement and could hear people talking and laughing in other cabins.

"What house do you think you're going to get in?" Evelyn questioned

"Well I hope ether Gryffindor or Hufflepuff" Harper declared "But I'm aiming for Gryffindor"

"I think I'm going to be a Hufflepuff" Evelyn replied

"What about you guys?" She looked at me and Olivia

"Ravenclaw or Slytherin" I answered

"Same" Olivia replied

Evelyn's face fell "Ahw, then we will all be in different houses, I hope that's not the case"

"Well if that's the case then we will still be able to talk in the Great Hall and chill on weekends and during free periods" Harper ensured

"I guess so," Evelyn smiled again.

"But don't think I am going to go easy on you in Quidditch next year" Harper added. Just wait until they find out my last name, I wonder if they would still want to hang out after that.

The train stopped moving and Evelyn poked her head out the door "We are here!"

We all exited the train and were pushed along until we were with all the other first years and took a boat ride across the lake and up some stairs before we found ourselves inside Hogwarts. I heard people gasp and chatter arose among the other first years.

Now it was time to be sorted into the houses we would be in for the next couple of years, I barely paid attention except when the girls who I knew were called. Just as expected, Evelyn got Hufflepuff, Harper got Gryffindor, and Olivia got Slytherin. I couldn't actually picture being friends with Evelyn or Harper but Olivia seemed like the kind of girl I could be friends with but I wasn't very social and she barely talked so I didn't know.

Finally I was called. "Riddle, Circe" I heard people start whispering to each other as I walked up to the hat. I sat down on the stool and she put the hat on my head. After what seemed like an eternity of the hat deciding between Slytherin or Ravenclaw the hat shouted "Ravenclaw!" I got up and made my way to the Ravenclaw table and they greeted me with a round of applause. From across the room I could feel my brother's eyes on me, I knew what they were feeling. Thomas had a hit of surprise while Mattheo wasn't surprised at all he was a bit sad, now that was surprising, he was never sad at anything. Ever.

After everyone was sorted the headmaster spoke. I didn't catch much of what he was trying to say but I could care less. We ate then he sent us off. I followed the prefect and all the other Ravenclaws to the common room. We all stopped at the door.

"You need to answer a riddle in order to get in and if you get it wrong then you have to wait for another person to get it right, so make sure you don't leave anything when you leave because it takes a bit to get back in sometimes" He explained

He reached out and knocked it once and the eagle opened and asked "What can you never touch or hold but it can be broken easily"

"You guys try to answer the question" He challenged

I thought for a second and the answer suddenly became obvious "The answer is a promise" I piped up from the back of the group

"Correct" The eagle praised, then the door swung open to reveal a beautiful room in shades of white, blue, and copper. The ceiling was covered in stars and there was a library and a bunch of comfy looking chairs to sit and read in. I saw the kids' faces light up and I found myself smiling.

"Boys follow me, girls go with Phoebe"

Phoebe waved her hand "I'm Phoebe, follow me"

We followed her until we reached the dorm room for our year, our stuff was already next to beds, I found my bed furthest from the door in between a girl with short, curly, blond hair, dark blue eyes, and flawless pale skin who introduced herself as Cora and a girl named Indu who had long, straight, hazelnut colored hair, emerald eyes, and had darker, freckled skin. I had noticed Indu in the Great Hall, she didn't talk to anyone while she was there and I didn't see her talking to anyone when we were heading towards the common room.

"Hey Indu" I called when we were all getting ready for bed and everyone else was talking "you seem really quiet, do you have any brothers or sisters who go here?" I asked

She looked up at me and seemed startled that I was talking to her "Who? Me?"

"Yes, you" I confirmed

She shook her head "I only have a mom, my dad died when I was young"

"Oh I'm so sorry, that must have been hard for you"

"A little bit but I was really young and barely knew him, he worked a lot too and I never really got to see him" Indu explained

"Well, my father doesn't care about me and I have barely seen my mom, they both keep their distance"

"Your father is He-who-should-not-be-named, right?"

"Yeah but I don't consider myself to be anything like him and I would rather not be known as my fathers daughter"

"Sure, I understand"

"Thanks" I noticed that she had put a book under her pillow earlier and she pulled it out now "You like reading?" I asked

"Yeah, mostly fiction, you know escape from reality"

"I love reading too, it was my favorite way to pass time back at home"

I smiled and she smiled too. "Do you want to be, I don't know, maybe friends?" She asked

"Sure, I'd love to be"

"Is it obvious that I have never done this?" Indu started laughing

"I haven't either, it will be new for both of us, but we will do it together"

"Together... I like the sound of that Circe"

"Me too Indu, me too"
