TW: Mentions of death

"Did you know she's dead?" I asked carefully

"Yes, we were the ones who found her" He explained as his eyes fell to the ground

"Did you see anyone else who might have killed her?" I asked "Anything?"

"Why do you want to know more?, I already told you that I didn't do it" He raised his voice slightly

"I'm curious about this. If you don't know who it is, there is still a killer here, and who is most likely a student"

"Who cares if there's a killer, they can't harm you or me, they wouldn't"

"WHO CARES? That's what you say?" I shook my head "you might not care but I care because I don't want people to start dying all over the place let alone my friend"

"We have seen people die before" He reasoned

"We have" I acknowledged "I know that it probably won't happen but someone could frame me for it if I'm in the wrong place at the wrong time"

"How?" He rolled his eyes

"Was that a question or are you just playing with me?" I couldn't tell if he was joking or just plain stupid

"That was a real question"

"I'm a Riddle and it might make total sense to some people that I killed them. Just think about it, Circe Riddle arrives at Hogwarts and is a Ravenclaw, no one knows me, they know you. They know you and Thomas and you're always getting in trouble. You and Thomas are both powerful, or at least Thomas is. I'm your sister, someone could easily believe that I killed students. Being a Riddle plus being and Ravenclaw, I'm a Ravenin or Slytherclaw, in my opinion pretty dangerous combination"

"But your only a first year, I don't think people would believe that"

"Mattheo, let me ask you this. Do I look like I could kill someone? From your experience talking to me, do you think I would kill someone?"

He stayed quiet for a second "Uh, yes"

"Exactly" I replied

"Well if it comes to that I will talk to them"

"And say what?"

"I don't know, something"

"That doesn't help" I glared at him

"Can I go back to my friends now, we can talk about this later"

"Sure, but meet me in the library during dinner"

"Fine" He walked back into the courtyard and I went back to the library.

Indu greeted me "Did you get what you wanted?"

"Not really, all I know is that Mattheo claims he didn't do it, he was in the forest with one of his friends trying to find the girl who was killed. Apparently they were the ones that found her" I explained

"Why were they trying to find her, and how did they know to look in the forest?"

"Mattheos friend was close friends with her but I don't know how they knew to look in the forest. You can ask him later if you want"

"Ask him? Your brother?"

"Yeah, or I could ask if you're scared or something. Sometimes I forget who they are, who we are to other people"

"I mean Thomas seems fine but I have never seen Mattheo and honestly he sounds like the more problematic one"

"Yeah, Thomas is more mature while Mattheo is more... let's just say unaware or doesn't care about his surroundings" I shrugged "So, did you find anything?"

"Not really, sorry. I did finish my homework though" Indu Informed me with a slight smile

"It's ok, at least you did something and you got to see the library" She nodded

I explored the library a little more and picked out a couple of books to check out then it was already time for dinner, or it would be if I didn't have to miss it. I look over and see Thomas enter the library and sit at a table in the corner, away from everything else. He glanced over at me and then at Indu beside me before he glared away.
