TW: Mentions of death

I went over to Thomas and sat down on the other side of the table, his smile still present on his face and I couldn't decide if it was friendly or not "So, how's it been in Ravenclaw so far?" He asked

"Fine" I replied

"Just fine?"

"Yeah, what did you want to talk about?" I wanted to get over with this as soon as possible

"I overheard some professors talking about how a kid was killed in the forbidden forest last night" He claimed

"Do they know who or why? Do you know what year they were in?"

"It was a third year, Mattheo's age. They think a fellow third year student killed them but the killer used the students wand to kill them" He raised one of his eyebrows at me as if he found this fact interesting "They have no idea who did it"

"Why are you telling me this?"

"Well one, I don't want you to die and two, I have my suspicions" He looked into my eyes, waiting for my mind to catch up to his

"Do you think Mattheo did it?"

"I'm not saying it was him but he disappeared after the feast and came back to the common room past curfew"

"What house was the student who was killed in?"

"Gryffindor"

"Why don't you talk to your friends about this, I don't know how I am supposed to help" I finally admitted

"My friends are great but they can be dumb sometimes and they don't care about Gryffindors" He explained "I trust you, and you are a Ravenclaw after all"

"Why should I trust you?" I narrowed my eyes at him

"Because I trust you and while it might seem like I never liked you, father didn't like you and if he saw me being kind with you he would probably never let us see each other again"

I rolled my eyes. "So what can I do?"

"Get as much info as you can by dinner, then meet back up here"

"You're going to make me miss dinner?" I asked raising my voice slightly

"Do you have a problem with that?"

"Not really, just one question"

"What"

"Can my friend help me?"

"Do you trust her?"

"Yes, I do" I nodded as well

"Then fine, she can help you" He got up and left without another word and I watched him leave the library.

Indu came over to my table "Are you going to tell me what you two talked about or is it private?" She asked carefully

I explained everything to her and we started coming with ideas. "How about you go talk to Mattheo, see if he knows anything, and I will stay here and look through a couple books" Indu suggested

"Sure," I replied. "Let's hope I don't get killed."

I left the library and ran into Theodore "Circe, isn't it?"

"Yeah, I have a quick question for you. Where is Mattheo?"

"Umm, last I saw him he was in the courtyard with some other Slytherins, why?"

"He's my brother, I don't need a reason to see him other than that" I pushed past him and found my way to the courtyard. I saw him sitting under a tree with about five other Slytherins. Other than that the courtyard was empty. He saw me the moment I stepped onto the grass.

"Well if it isn't my sister" He greeted

"Your sisters a Ravenclaw" One of the boys asked

"Yeah, I'm a Ravenclaw, do you have a problem with that?"

"Yeah, I do"

"Well if you have a problem with me being a Ravenclaw, feel free to keep your opinion to yourself and your mouth shut, you don't hear me complaining about you being a Slytherin do you?"

The guy looked angry but he didn't say anything else. I turned back to my brother "Mattheo, can I talk to you?"

"Sure, you're talking to me right now"

"Alone" I clarified

He stood up and whispered something to his friends then joined me in the hallway "So, what do you want to talk about?" He asked as he leaned against the wall.

"Where were you last night after the feast?" I asked

"In the common room" He replied

"Where in the common room?"

"What do you mean where?, I was in the common room"

"Did you go to the forbidden forest last night?"

"Fine, yes I went, but I was with Theodore"

"What were you doing in the forest?"

"We were looking for a girl in our year. Her name is Cleo, she's a Gryffindor. I noticed her leave after the feast and we went looking for her" He explained

"Why, I thought you didn't care about Gryffindors?"

"I don't- but Cleo and Theo are close friends, they met on the train first year and have been good friends ever since even though they got sorted into different houses. They were pretty close, and Theo was worried about her, so I went with him to find her" He frowned slightly and looked away, down the hallway. He ran a hand through his hair and pushed off the wall his lips forming a straight line, already knowing where I was going with this conversation.
