"Why are you so sad?" Y/n laughed walking towards her godfather Mick "because you're gone" he muttered looking at her.

"But I'm right here silly" she laughed pointing at herself "no. No, you're not
Y/n/n, you succeeded" Mick cried harder as he lowered his head not wanting Y/n to witness him like this.

"Oh" the girl murmured deflated "I'm so sorry, I didn't know" Y/n apologised walking towards the older man.

"Why are you apologising? It's me who should- I should've done more butternut" Mick whispered looking at the lightly faded girl.

"There isn't that could've been done, I was doomed from the start" Y/n softened wrapping her arms around him.

"Please"

"Please don't blame yourself" Y/n stated.

"You need rest Micky, this- this isn't good and- and I can't rest until you do" she admitted her eyes filling with worry.

"I can't go knowing that you're not okay, promise me please Micky that you'll look after yourself, Momma and Aunt Christine and Uncle John even dad and dogface too"

"I wish things had worked out differently and that maybe therapy had worked instead of wasting my time and money. I'm just sorry I never gave you all the goodbye you deserved- by god am I sorry"

"Mum tried so hard to keep me going and-and I leave her behind!"

Mick watched as her body faded as he waddled over to his bed flopping onto the mattress, Y/n pulled the cover over him before choosing to lay next to the man.

"Goodnight dream"
"Goodnight Uncle Mickey"

Mick fell asleep peacefully that night, Y/n visited when things got bad always reminding him of her downfall.

"We'll all be okay" she whispered kissing his forehead.

Mick wasn't the only one who saw her either, "Lindsey. I swear I'm not crazy!" Stevie cried latching onto the man.

"I see her Linds. Everywhere" Stevie's voice cracked "and you think I don't? She was my daughter Steph. My little dream" Lindsey barked breaking down.

"You wouldn't know what it's like to lose a child!" Lindsey glared at the blonde.

-
Stevie sat beside Lindsey in earshot of Y/n telling Christine all about her dream as the woman, Mick and John all nodded enthusiastically.

For a three-year-old she sure had a story to tell, everyday "dream" Stevie smiled looking up at Lindsey.

"What?" He laughed looking at the blonde quizzically "dream, her own little nickname" Stevie added softly.

"yeah, I saw my real mommy and she said she wuved me and- and " Y/n smiled "she pwated my hair" the girl added.

That simple statement had clenched the band's heart as Y/n's mother had passed during childbirth. Lindsey did all he could for the girl but to Stevie, it sometimes looked and felt as if his music were a bit more important.

Y/n yawned loudly before waddling towards Stevie flopping her small body onto the woman. Falling asleep instantly as the woman pulls you up to rest your head on her small chest.
-
"Mum!" Y/n called out barging into Stevie's home "in the kitchen love" Stevie called back.

"She's done it again the old cow" Y/n cried running into the blonde's arms as she tried to hush the girl's loud sobs.

"Dad hates me! All because of that evil woman. Oh god, I'd love to slap that bitch" Y/n raised her voice lightly.

"We all do dream, but Y/n unfortunately we can't your dad somehow loves her" Stevie held the girl closer.

"Look on the bright side, you're 12 you have six years until you move out or you can come to live with me full time instead" Stevie reasoned.

"I'll move here but tonight. I need clothes I'm staying at Uncle Micks and do not feel like seeing pigface and Dad playing happy families" Y/n's cries seemed to seize.

-
"Uncle Mick, you can't do that!" Y/n's laughter echoed around the large home as the pair sat in the living room.

"It's not possible" she added breathlessly "is too, listen here missy. I can fight anyone in your bad dreams, got it?" He asked her cheekily.

"Yes sir" she yawned wrapping Mick's arm around her frame "aren't you 14?" He teased "shh" she giggled tiredly.

"Goodnight dream"

"Dream" Lindsey said softly but Y/n only chuckled darkly "you don't get to call me that" she shook her head walking backwards.

"You play happy families like I don't exist anymore, like my birth mum never existed- maybe I should join her" she argued.

"Maybe you should!" Lindsey blurted out of anger "Lindsey" Kristen spoke softly intervening. She thought Lindsey was out of line "no Kris if she wants to join the mother that she killed let her. She's probably only one cut away from it" he added not thinking.

"She's 16 Lindsey Buckingham! Imagine how you would've felt growing up with just a father who had other priorities. Or having to find a mother in your father's best friend, you don't think Lindsey what it was like for her watching all the girls with their mothers." Kristen pleaded quietly she hadn't been the nicest to Y/n and she regretted it severely.

"You should be thanking that wonderful band of yours and that little blonde for stepping up when you didn't choose to" she added walking off.

Y/n was nowhere in sight.
-
Y/n had fled the scene to go home her mother was nowhere to be found.

*ring ring ring*

Y/n called her mother to no avail "I'm sorry mum, I'm so sorry- I had another fight with dad today but I can't handle everything anymore."

"Everything is so loud. I wish I could've been a better daughter for you and- and I wish you could've had children of your own because you're a fucking amazing mum so thank you"

Y/n sobbed loudly trying to get everything off her chest before she closes the book.

"But I've got to say goodbye, for now, goodbye is not forever, goodbye is not the end, goodbye simply m-means until we me-et again" Y/n choked on her cries.

"Goodnight mummy, I'll visit you in your dreams".

-
"No. You're right Lindsey I don't know what it's like to lose a child because I lost more than that, it's because of you that I lost my whole world. Who the fuck says that shit to their daughter!" Stevie yelled at the man.

"She was a child. My baby, my whole world- god she was my dream!"

"My little dream"

Dreams and moments of crippling sadness were the only times Stevie got to see her daughter.
