Chapter 6

Unknown POV

''She is dead! No! No! She is dead! I killed her!'' The woman on the bed shouted. The nurse tried to calm her down, but she grew even more aggressive.

''Doctor Summers she won't calm down am afraid the condition is worsening.'' 

''Hahaha.'' the woman laughed.

'' I killed her! I killed her!'' She shouted again.

''Give me the sedative.''  The doctor injected her, and she calmed down a bit. 

''Excuse me Doctor Summers, Sir Damien is here to see.'' Another nurse said. Before the doctor could say anything, Damien had already come.

''How is her condition.'' He demanded.

'' Am afraid it is worsening by the day, sir.''

''Huh, I see. Leave us alone. Damien said.

''yes, sure but she is unstable for the time being.'' 

''I will take care of it.''

The doctor and the nurses left, leaving Damien and the woman in the room. Damien looked at the woman who was lost in her world intently before starting to speak. 

''I thought when I bring you here you will have your senses back Miranda.'' He said slowly. ''Miranda why did you do it.'' He asked her.

Silence.

''Miranda. Why Did You do it.''  He asked her getting angry.

The helpless woman stiffened a little bit, and she turned her head to look at the man in front of her before she started to speak.

'' I killed her! I killed her!''

''No! you did not!''  Damien shouted. How could you do such a horrible thing?'' Damien asked her again, but the woman was lost again in her world.

''I killed her.'' She repeated.

Suddenly the machine which she had been attached to went off with loud beeping sounds and Miranda started shaking violently. The doctors and the nurses rushed in to save the situation. Damien looked at the woman shaking on the bed with disgust and hatred before leaving. Outside he was met by Tony and other guys.

''How is she, Damien?''  Tony asked. Damien did not reply he just got into the car and the others followed. They were all silent. Nobody dared to speak because they knew better. Tony looked at his cousin with pity. He knows what he went through from being appointed as the Don to how he ended up with Miranda which is why he had been making efforts with Joaquin, Lars, and Leo to take him out to places to interact and meet with people not just people women in particular. But this woman Miranda ruined Damien. And also, the Mafia, but did he have a choice? No, he did not.

Tony's thoughts were cut short by the ringing of his phone.

''Hello?''

''Tony, is it?'' A thick Russian accent spoke on the other end.

''Yes, it is me Dimitri I hope you have called to say that your boss has accepted to come to the conference meeting.''

''Ah right, the conference. of course, yes, we will be coming besides, we want to meet our mob friends and especially Damien.'' Dimitri said sarcastically.

''Okay, we will be waiting.'' He said and ended the call.

''Are they coming.'' Damien spoke this time.

''Yes.'' 

''Good. We are heading straight to the meeting. we will deal with this Russian problem once and for all.

After driving for like thirty minutes they arrived at the meeting. Other leaders had already come and settled. As Damien entered the room followed by others the room fell silent. 

They know their place Damien thought and he smirked at the thought. The meeting began.

''This is unbelievable! You all know what the Mafia entails, power, money, and everything. So, if you want power you will go through all the extent to acquire power! Arthur, the leader of the Russians said.

''And that includes sex trafficking? huh!'' 

''YES! Damien.''

''You want us to do this the hard way?''. Suddenly guns were drawn from their hiding place as the atmosphere was tense. Guns pointing at the Russian boss with his people. He was outnumbered, and he knew it.

''No keep your guns away let's agree on something.'' He spoke.

''Agree on what? It is either you drop the sex trafficking act or...''

Arthur knew what Damien meant. He had heard of his father and Don Mauro's rule. and he knew Damien could not be lesser than them he could be more ruthless than them. 

'' Fine we will drop sex trafficking but....''  

''Sign this contract I hope you know the consequences of going against the contract,'' Andrea said cutting him off. They had had enough of them.

Arthur had no choice, so he signed it. The meeting ended and all the leaders returned to their territory.

Arthur's Pov

This is not the end Damien. I am coming for you. You will beg for mercy from me.
