''Mommy we are going to be late,'' Giada said.
''Okay, baby just a minute.''
Today I had promised Gia we will go to the city to buy some new clothes and dolls and she was excited. A few days had passed since my conversation with Damien. Well, I do not have his phone number maybe we could be communicating now and then, but I do not even dare to ask for it Huh! Miss Emma had not yet returned to the daycare and since no one was available to take care of Gia and the other kids, Mrs. Mabel gave me an off of a few days. I was really glad, and I told myself I will spend the few days with Gia. I waved at a cab, and it took us to the shopping center we were going. It was not an expensive shop, but it had really cute clothes and dolls for kids.
''Thanks,'' I said to the cab driver. As we walked in, I could see how excited Gia was. The place we stay is not as bubbly as the city. There are a few people in the neighborhood mostly old people. And there are no big buildings or expensive cars around.
''Can I see your bag.'' The lady guard at the door said. I gave her my bag and she checked it and then allowed us to get in.
''Wow!'' Gia said. I was also amazed by how the shop looked it was really beautiful. We started by the cute shoe area Gia took all her time to look at the beautiful shoes and after some time, she finally decided.
''I want this one's mommy.'' She said pointing at cute spotty black and white shoes. I took them and placed them on the cart. Next, we went to the clothes part. She did the same taking all her time and by the time we finished, the cart was full. I have never really bought so many things in my life but anything for my daughter. I paid the cashier and all the things we had bought filled five bags. How will I carry all these things I thought. Gia wanted to help but the bags were large than her.
''It is fine baby let me call a cab then we will ask the driver to help us,'' I spoke. I was about to wave at a cab, but a car pulled up beside us. This time I recognized the car. It was Damien's. He rolled down his window.
''Damey!'' Gia shouted excitedly attracting attention from people around us.
''Hi there little miss.'' He said picking her up and kissing her on the forehead. Cute I thought.
''Mommy and I went shopping today but they are a lot,'' Gia said. Always to the rescue.
''Myra. '' He called.
''Mh'' I said.
''Let's get you home, shall we?'' He said and started taking our things and putting them in the trunk. People were staring but Damien did not seem to mind. After that, we got in and I held Giada on my lap since his car did not have a baby seat. The drive was not silent and awkward like the other time. I appreciated how calm he was and patient with Giada when she asked all her innocent questions. The whole time I was quiet listening to the conversation.
''Would you like to spend the evening with us?'' Gia suddenly asked.
''Well, I would like to but if your mom allows it.'' He said looking at me and so did Gia. Him in my apartment! I will die! Because I get so nervous when he is around, but I cannot refuse. Giada seemed to be enjoying his company and so did him. So, I nodded in agreement.
''Yay!'' Gia shouted excitedly. It is going to be a long evening I sighed. After some time, we arrived at the apartment, he helped me unload all the things and carry them to my apartment. The apartment seemed suddenly small probably because no one else apart from me, Gia, and Mrs. Mabel who stay there.
''Welcome to my apartment,'' I said nervously. I was really glad that I had cleaned my apartment yesterday and Gia assisted by arranging her toys well. So, we are good. Immediately he sat down Gia started showing him all the things we had bought and I took the chance to make lunch for them.
