Chapter 8

2 YEARS AGO

''You know I have never loved you Miranda our marriage was just a contract to seal the agreements between Don Mauro and your father nothing more!''

''No Damien! You love I know you do.!'' Miranda shouted.

''Get over it Miranda as soon as the contract is over you will leave me and this house.''

''No, I will not leave you Damien I will not leave this house because I am pregnant!''

''What! You cannot be pregnant.'' 

''Well I am and not that I want this child Damien. I do not want to share you with anybody so I am going to abort it!''

''Are you crazy! You are not going to do that Miranda you will keep the child. My child!''

Miranda was a daughter of a friend of Don Mauro. Damien was set to marry her to seal an agreement for expanding territories. Damien had no choice so at the age of twenty-three he got married to Miranda with no feelings attached. Miranda on the other hand fell in love with Damien and the love grew strong turning into obsession.

After she found out she was pregnant, Miranda was not happy she was going to abort the child, but Damien made sure she did not do it. Damien tried to talk to her, and he thought she was listening, and she would change until one day.

Miranda's POV

''I need a Favour from you,'' Miranda spoke from the other line of the phone.

''What is it, Miranda?'' The person asked alarmed that Miranda had called him in the middle of the night.

''My due date is almost and I want to get this child out of my womb and get rid of it.'' She said with no emotions in her voice going straight to the point.

''Are you crazy or dumb Miranda? That will not happen Damien will kill us!'' The other person said with fear.

''I do not care! If you are not going to help me I will kill myself. so are you! She shouted.

''Mirand..'' The person tried to talk her out of it.

''I do not want to hear your excuses you owe me a favor after all.''

''Okay, where do we meet.'' The person said giving up.

After the phone call, Miranda walked quietly out of her room and towards the back door of the mansion as quietly as she could. She reached the door and suddenly.

''Can I assist you, ma'am?''

''yes, you are needed on the other side.'' She lied.

''If I was.

''Are you going to defy my orders? She asked.

''No ma'am.'' The guard said and bowed his head.

''Okay then go.''

The guard unknowingly went. Miranda opened the gate and there was a car waiting for her. She hurriedly climbed into the car and left. The car drove straight to a small hospital on the outskirts. Miranda had already decided and there was no way she was going back. Immediately they arrived a doctor met the two people. The doctor already knew what he was supposed to do so he went straight to work. After hours of operation, the baby was removed. The person knew what to do with it. So, he drove quickly to a dumpsite and wrapped the small baby, and placed it on the dumpsite. The person did not wait. As soon as he was done, he drove quickly and left, leaving the baby there to die of hunger and cold or be eaten by stray dogs.

Morning came and no Miranda was found. Damien with the help of his men organized a search team to look for her. Damien underestimated her. The search team did not go beyond the town since they thought a pregnant woman could not go that far. How wrong were they! Miranda reappeared in the mansion after a week, looking weak and with no baby bump.

''Where have you been?'' Came Damien's angry voice he looked at her weak body and that is when he noticed the missing baby bump.

''What did you do Miranda.? He demanded.

''I got rid of her Damien. She said emotionlessly.

Damien was dumbfounded as well as others. 

''Where did you take the baby Miranda? He asked again.

''I killed her.'' She said before passing out.

Damien looked for his child, in foster homes, and in the hospitals but he did not find it. It had been weeks and who knows where she gave birth from, for all he knew she could have killed her. He did not believe she was capable of such deeds.
