-San Francisco, California-

It was late night, the family was all asleep, getting rest for the following day in their city life. It was about half past eleven when the phone next to the left side of the king bed rang. A freckled hand reached out from underneath the blanket to grab it before their child is woken by the sound. The redhead pressed accept call without even looking at the caller ID.

"Hello, who is this?" she asked, trying to wake up while sitting up with her husband's arms still around her as he was still fast asleep, snoring quietly.

"Hey, this is El. I can't talk through the phone, do you think you could come to Hawkins? It's happening again." a voice the redhead couldn't really put a name to, but sounded familiar, spoke.

"Sorry, who? Do you have the right number?" the redhead asked, still not fully done processing what the person on the other end said.

"I think so. Is this Max Mayfield?" the person on the other end asked in confusion.

"It's Max Sinclair now. But yeah, pretty sure it's me." the redhead replied, yawning.

"You and Lucas got married?" the confused voice was heard from the other end.

"Mhm, like a year or so ago, more like less than a year ago. Who is this again?" Max asked, looking over at her husband's bedside table to read the alarm clock time that read '11:49', "And why are you calling this late?"

"Max, this is El. I need you in Hawkins as soon as possible, Lucas too if he wants to. It's happening again." the other person said very slowly as to make sure Max understands what she's being told.

"El? As in El Hopper? Mike Wheeler's girlfriend?" Max asked just to make sure, even if she was pretty certain she's talking to the small brunette she met in Hawkins in 1984.

"Ex-girlfriend for three years, but yes, that's me." the woman on the other side said impatiently.

"Oh, sorry to hear you broke up." Max mummbled, bitting her lip in embarassment.

"It's fine, really. Also, congratulation on your marrige. Why wasn't I invited?" El replied, Max let out a quiet sigh.

"No one was, it was a small ceremony with just my dad there as he was the one to suggest we get married right now, though we were engaged for like a half year before. We wanted to invite everyone and make a big wedding, but we didn't have the money. Sorry about that, but you're not the only one." Max said, letting out a quiet awkward laugh.

"Okay, I'm not mad. Just come over as soon as you can. The sooner, the better." El said and Max could hear the smile in El's tone, "Also, do you happen to have Dustin's number?" El added.

"Yep, I'll call him. Shall I call Mike too?" Max said, nodding her head slightly.

"No need, he's already here. And yet again, he's the reason things are not the way they should." El said with a giggle, Max had to bite her lip to not laugh.

"Why doesn't that surprise me?" Max said in a sarcastic tone with a quiet laugh following.

"Who knows. So, you'll get Dustin here? And tell him to call Steve and Robin in as well, please." El said, Max nodding again before realizing that the other girl can't actually see her.

"Yeah, I can make that. So, see you soon then." Max said with a smile.

"Yes, bye now." El replied and before Max could say anything else the call was ended. Max sighed, dialing a number she would call quite often lately.

"Max, I swear to god." the sleepy voice replied, Max giggled.

"Hello to you too, how's my favorite babysitter doing?" Max asked, hearing Steve Harrington sigh loudly.
