The three of us drove down the long highway. I was in the back and five and Luther were in the front. Five was holding a fake briefcase. We had to bribe Hazel and Cha Cha to get to the handler.
I still thought about five, every time he looked at me my heart fluttered and I blushed. Which may sound stupid but, I really like him, you know? The car came to a halt.
"You know I never enjoyed it." Five said breaking the silence and I sat up.
"What?" Luther asked looking at five and I looked at him too. He glanced back at me with worry on his face.
"The killing. I mean, I was...:I was good at my work, and I..... I took pride in it. But it never gave me pleasure." He said and a blush flew to my cheeks. WAIT NO Y/N STOP THAT YOU DETTY PIG
"I think it was all those years alone. Solitude can do funny things to the mind." Five said and a certain sadness overcame the car. I thought of Jay, my poorness, and the fact that after all this was over, I wouldn't have anywhere to go.
"Yeah well you were gone for such a long time. I only spent four years on the moon, but that was more than enough. It's the being alone that breaks you—"
"I'm gonna get some air." I interrupted Luther as tears formed in my eyes. Alone was the word I most hated. I stepped out of the car and ran to the back where I cried my eyes out but didn't make a sound, I leaned against the back of the car. I was all alone, no five, no friends, half a family and an apocalypse coming at me head first. Plus i had these new powers to sort out. Speaking of these powers I looked around me to see that the red was flowing from my hands like a dream. It was beautiful. I didn't notice Five and Luther standing next to me watching this scene with wide eyes.
"Since when can you do that?!" Luther said and five crouched down, running his hands through the red dust.
"That night in the alley, I threw a trash can across the street. In my room, when C-Clarrise died, I knocked everything out of place. And now, it's just here. I cant control it." I said five looked at my teary eyes and swiftly ran a thumb underneath them. I blushed as he touched my face.
"It's beautiful." He said and I smiled and looked down as he sat next to me
"We will figure this out later ok? For now-" he grabbed my hand and interlocked our fingers, why was he being so touchy? My heart was pounding out of my chest.
"Let's try not to get killed." He said as we saw the opposite car approaching. He stood up, our hand still interlocked and helped me up next. He flashed me one more smile and then we walked to the front of the car. Five walked slightly back to Luther, letting go of my hand. He whispered something and handed him a note.
"Y/n, if this all goes sideways, do me a favour and tell Delores I'm sorry." He said and my heart broke. Oh he was just rubbing it in now. I covered my sadness
"Of course, anything." I said and smiled as he smiled back. Luther had a shocked look on his face but a somewhat calm one.
Like he had seen a ghost, but the ghost was like Casper. Hazel and Cha Cha exited their car and began walking towards us. Five did the same, whiles Luther and I stayed back. Five began talking to The pair, making them take off their masks.
"Psst, y/n!" I heard Luther whisper yell from beside me and I gave him a confused look. He handed me the note five had given him earlier and told me not to open it until five was gone. GONE?!?! WHAT DID HE MEAN GONE?!?!!?
Five began walking back to us and I gave him a confused look. Cha cha dialled the phone, getting in touch with The handler.
"What happens now?" Luther asked and I sat down on the hood of the car next to five as he grabbed my hand again but I shook it off. If he wanted Delores so bad he should hold her hand.
"Uh, now we wait." Five said
(Time skip)
We heard an ice cream truck come down the way of the highway and I got up off the car. Five grabbed my hand and put me behind Luther. I gave him a confused look as he sighed, staring at me like he wanted to kiss me but just couldn't.
"Stay safe y/n/n." He said and I nodded, looking at him as he stood next to Luther.
"Is that her?" Luther asked as the truck drove past to reveal Klaus and Diego going straight for Hazel and Cha Cha
"What the hell are they doing here?" Five said as they continued driving.
"It's a setup!" Cha Cha yelled and began shooting. Five ducked behind Luther, where I was and grabbed my waist, holding me close as my face was on his chest. We had never been this close, it was nice even though we were getting shot at. In one swift movement I leaned up and kissed him, it was quick but, affectionate, he kissed me back gingerly and I smiled as I held the back of his neck. When we parted he just held me close.
"Oh I am so breaking up with Delores." He whispered and I laughed lightly as he just held me. Did I hear that right?!?! He was going to leave her for Moi?!?!?!!?
Hazel and Cha Cha got hit by the truck as a bullet came straight for the three of us. Luther stood in front of us, the bullet wasn't going to hurt him. Then, it stopped. Five was gone, and the ice cream truck hit their car.
"Five?" I asked as I looked around and Luther did the same.
"Five!" I yelled in confusion. Did he just kiss me and leave?! Luther held up the briefcase.
"Come get it!" He yelled and Cha Cha came running. Luther threw the briefcase into the open field and Cha Cha ran that way. Meanwhile Luther and I helped Diego and klaus into the car. Hazel picked up the gun but it was empty.
"Luther?! Y/n?! What the hell are you guys doing here?!" Klaus asked as we ran to the car. Maybe five was lying so I didn't go full physco on him.. maybe he just kissed me back so that I wasn't embarrassed. He left, anyway, so I don't really have a choice on wether or not to ask him if he liked me.
"Klaus and Diego got into the back and Luther and I in the front." Then I remembered the note! Five left me a note!
I looked into my pocket. What? It was gone?!
Fives POV:
I walked through the hallway in the commission holding the piece of paper I had stole from y/n's pocket. I didn't want her to get mixed into all of this. This note would change everything and I didn't want the Commission to come after her next when I escaped. So, I was going to have to let her down easy. I couldn't control myself when she kissed me, it was what I waited so long for her to do. I'll have to pretend like it didn't happen. To protect her. I will make it look like she was crazy, I didn't want to. I cared about her so much. That's why I wear this stupid watch everywhere. I have to though....Confuse her! But, a part of me still wants to hand her the note that read:
"I love you."
