Matteo's POV
Being the son of the dark lord comes with a lot of responsibility and expectations. After he had disappeared on Halloween night due to his stupidity, I was raised by the Malfoy family. They taught me everything I needed to know about the magical world, every law, spell, curse, pure-blood tradition and the way to behave as a proper heir. I had known from a young age how corrupt the ministry truly is and how the 'light' side wasn't as light as everyone thought.
My father had hopes, dreams and plans, ones that would improve our world. He wanted muggle-borns and muggle-raised children to be a part of our world at the first sign of accidental magic. This would give them the time to learn our ways instead of trying to make it more muggle-ish. One of the most important plans he was aiming for was orphanages for children who were being abused by their families, or in some cases, by guardians, if the child is somehow adopted into a home or in a muggle orphanage. There has been a large number of cases of abused children found in muggle homes when showing signs of accidental magic, which has also resulted in many deaths.
Last but not least, the laws on dark magic and dark creatures. The fact that dark magic was banned from Britain was one of the most bizarre things to happen, especially when it affects those who have dark magical cores or before better when it comes to darker spells. Centuries ago, 'dark' magic was as commonly used as 'light' magic, even more so due to the many pure-blood families being either dark witches and wizards or having a grey core, who'd leant more towards the dark arts. It wasn't until after the goblin war when the 'light' side declared all dark magical creatures to be abominations and unworthy to live alongside those without creature blood. So, after such discrimination, new laws were set into place and stated that they aren't allowed to have normal jobs, allowed to have children nor are they allowed to own properties.
Albus Dumbledore had voted for all these laws, despite having a werewolf on his side during the war. Those nine years without my father were extremely hard and knowing I had to go to Hogwarts with the 'light' leader as headmaster was something that I had not been looking forward to. Of course, I hadn't expected my father to return at the end of my first year, sane and even more determined to accomplish what he hadn't during the first war.
My second year was peaceful for the most part, except for the multiple times that the headmaster had tried to question me about my home life and had not so discreetly demanded to know whether my father had returned or not. Thankfully, I was fully trained in Legilimency and occlumency, Professor Snape or Severus, as I call him when in private, had been adamant that I learn, knowing the headmaster would one day try to seek answers the harder way if not giving willingly.
I thought my third year to be the same, going to classes, helping my father gain followers and simply having a childhood that he had never received himself. I did not expect that two people would appear at the opening feast, in an unknown form of smoke. My father was a powerful dark wizard and I was used to the feeling of dark magic but the two unknown guests radiated power that made my dark core sing like no other. It was delicious, seductive, dangerous and for those with dark cores, it was welcoming. I hadn't expected the figures to reveal themselves and to be Delila and Harrison Potter. There were many stories of their so-called accomplishments growing up and were known to be the poster children for the light side.
My first thoughts on Delila Potter... To be quite honest, the moment I saw her, my mind went completely hazy and pure desire burned within me. She was absolutely gorgeous, she looked like the definition of sin and radiated seduction, and from the looks on the male's faces, they all had similar thoughts. I knew she was my age and like her, I look a few years older than most would expect but what I hadn't expected was for her to be covered in runes and tattoos. It made her look dangerous but sexy and all I wanted was for that body to be against mine, the thought of anyone else touching her without my permission sent a jolt of anger through me. I most definitely have a possessive streak, but somehow, I know she wouldn't be tameable like the other girls in this school but it didn't seem to bother me as much as I thought.
What made her even more appealing was her attitude towards the headmaster, it was clear that she and her brother weren't the biggest fans of the 'light' lord and from the whispers, I heard from the other Slytherins, they were rather curious but relieved to know the Potter twins weren't sheep like we had expected. Then, to make things even more shocking, they were declared the heirs of Hogwarts, meaning they overruled the headmaster and the ministry when it comes to the running and students of the school.
I decided that the first thing I would do when leaving the hall would be to contact my father, he would most definitely be intrigued by the new information.
Perhaps I would show him the memory, I know he would be thrilled to see the anger on the headmaster's face.
