A Pink Night

Ponyboy's POV:

The sky was filled with the colors pink, orange, red, and a bit of blue. It was the perfect sunset. I was only viewing it from my window, and I wanted a better view. So, I decided to go down to the park to watch the sun go down.
"Darry!" I hollered.
"DARRY!" I screamed a little louder.
"Gosh. You coulda' killed me. I was sleepin' " he said startled.
"Oh sorry." I quickly said.
"Well I'm heading down to the park just so you know"
"Sure, Pony. Just be back soon" He replied.

I made my way out of the front door and headed towards the park.

London's POV:

I sat in my Aunts room. I was staying at her house for the summer because my dad was down here helping her. We really live in Kansas. She's been so sick lately and my dad thinks it better to stay with her. I've been pretty bored the past 5 days we've been here. Summer just started and I didn't want it to be boring. But so far, it was. As I sat in the desk chair drawing a simple picture, I looked out the window. Wow that's one nice sunset. I needed to see it better. I walked downstairs looking for my dad. Didn't see him. He's probably taking my aunt for a walk or something. I thought I could see the sunset real good from the park. I opened the front door and headed towards the park.

Pony's POV:

I come down here a lot to watch the sunset. I sat on my usual swing. Nobody's usually down here at this time- it's around dinner time. Sometimes Darry gets annoyed when I miss dinner. But he was takin' a nap, so I doubt he cares. And Sodapop is still at work right now. So, I'm good for now. I sat for a little and then I saw someone out of the corner of my eye walking towards the park. Weird, no ones usually here. Except when the Socs come down, drunk as hell, to start some trouble. This girl (I figured out) didn't seem too much like a Greaser. But she didn't seem too much like a Soc either. Why haven't I seen her around?

London's POV:

I saw a boy sitting on the swing set, watching the sunset. Funny, I came down here to watch the sunset too. I saw him look at me quickly. I kept walking ignoring the fact that he was now staring at me. I decided to go over and say hi.

Pony's POV:

She started making her way towards me. I started to make out her face. Long brown hair, that was blowing lightly in the gust of wind. And light brown eyes that showed some green in them. Damn, this girl is so cute. I wonder where she came from. She made me think. Why's she comin' over here? She's watchin' the sunset too? Where does she-
"Uh hi" she smiled at me.
I quickly looked up at her.
"Hey" I smiled back at her.
"Can I sit here?" She motioned towards the swing next to me.
" 'course" I relied.
She sat down and she looked up at the sun that was smoothly going down the sky.
"It's real nice, huh?" I asked.
She turned her head towards me.
"Yeah. I love it when's it's all these different colors"
"I'm guessin' you watch it a lot?" I asked.
"Yeah, actually. I watch it every night" she laughed a little. "I know it's a little weird- "
I cut her off.
"What? No way. I watch it every night too!" I smiled at her. She seemed a little more comfortable now.
"No way!" She smiled.
"For real!" I told her.
I looked at her looking at the sun sinking in the sky.
"You from here?" I asked.
"Nah, I'm from Kansas. My dad brought me down here for the summer to look over my aunt" she told me.
"So that's why I have seen you around. Haha"
"Yeah. That's why" she smiled at me.
"I'm Ponyboy" I told her.
"That's an original name" She smiled at me.
"I'm London"
"Ah, like the city" I smiled.
"Yep! Like the city" she laughed.

London's POV:

He was really cute. We talked a little after I told him why I'm down here. He watches the sunsets, I watch the sunsets. I actually found out that we have a lot in common. He has two brothers, I have two brothers. We both like chocolate cake too.
"If you could have any superpower, what would it be?" I asked. Kind of random, but he didn't mind. He seemed interested in my questions.
"Any superpower." He said to himself.
"Easy- to fly" he said shortly after. "What about you?" He asked.
"I think I'd have to say... Hmm." I was thinking.
"Don't even have an answer for your own question" he joked.
"I do! I'm just thinkin'" I laughed with him.
After we both stopped laughing I shouted,
"To breath underwater!"
"Yeah?" He asked. "Not to fly?!"
"Well I mean I'd like them all but if I could only have one, that would be it" I smiled at him.
We didn't relies how late it was until we saw that the sky was black and the sun already went down.

Pony's POV:

Wow, time really did fly with her. It was already dark.
"Can I walk you home?" I offered.
"Sure" she blushed.
She lead me to her house. Well- her aunts house. And I opened the door for her.
"Will I see you soon?" I smiled at her.
"Of course" she giggled. She waved bye and I started to walk home.
I walked through the front door and saw Soda and Darry sitting, eatin' dinner.
"Pony! It's 9:45! Where have you been?" Darry demanded.
"Sorry, Dar. I was watchin' the sunset and I kinda met a girl- she's new here and I wanted to welcome her" I explained.
"PONY HAS A GIRLFRIEND!" Soda chanted.
"I wish" I said under my breath, hoping no one would hear. I joined them and sat down for dinner. But all I could think about was London.
