Only Them

Part 4

Eve's POV

He asked me to dress somewhat fancy... but not too fancy. Hmmm. Well.... Let's see. I look through my clothes and pull out a couple dresses I have. I had already showered, and already did my hair. Nothing fancy. I just curled it.

I look at the dresses and finally pick one out and put it on. I usually like dark colors but this dress was white on top and has a crème colored bottom to it. I picked some white heels to go with it. I sprayed myself with perfume and sighed as I looked in the mirror. I looked decent. It wasn't my normal type of thing but this works. I put on some makeup but nothing to over do it. Just some eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara. I smiled a bit and then I heard the doorbell. I looked at my phone and say it was 4. I grab my purse and put my phone in it before heading to the front door.

With a soft sigh, I open the door and see something I wasn't expecting. I mean... I was expecting Maverick and that's who was at the door. But I wasn't expecting him to look like this. His shirt and pants hugged his body perfectly. His hair swept to the side. He had a gift bag in one hand and a bouquet of flowers in the other. He smiles and hands me the flowers. Black roses.

"I didn't know what exactly you like but I got you these." He said.

"They are beautiful, Maverick."

I quickly go inside and put them in a vase. I walk back out to him and he hands me the gift bag.

"What's this?" I say confused.

"Well uh... there is a candle in there. Some candies, since I don't really know what you like. A couple face masks. And a pair of fuzzy pajama pants." He replies.

I was shocked. I have never been given a gift on a first date before. And he got me a whole bag full of them. "I... I really don't know what to say. Thank you. This means more than you will ever know."

"I'm glad you like it. So... are you ready?"

I place the bag inside before I walk out and close my door. "I'm ready."

I held his arm out and I took it. He leads me to a car but it wasn't the one he had at the races. This was a Challenger. A navy blue challenger. It was definitely beautiful.

He opened the passenger door for me and I got in before he closed the door. He jogged over to the driver seat and got in. We both buckled our seatbelts and he started driving to wherever he was taking me.

After a bit of driving, we pull up to a nice steakhouse. I've never been here before but I've always heard good things. I put my hand on the handle of the door but before I could open it, I hear Maverick speak up.

"Nope. Don't even think about opening that door little missy. That is my job." He gives me a look that screams authority.

"Yes sir." I reply.

I could see him tense up a bit and take a deep breath before he steps out of the car. He opens the door for me and helps me out. Once he closes the door, he holds his arm out for me again and we walk inside.

We stop up front and a man says, "Ah. Mr. Sterling. We have been expecting you and your guest. If you could follow me to your table."

We both follow him and as we get to the table, Maverick pulls out my chair for me. I happily take my seat and he gently pushes the chair in. He takes a seat across from me and we both look at our menus. A waitress come over and smiles.

"Ah. Mr. Sterling. It's been a while. Glad to see you back. And who is this beautiful woman?" The waitress says.

"This is my date for this evening. This is Eve." Maverick smiles.
