Only Them

Part 13

Maverick's POV

"I fucked up.  Shit.... Im so fucking stupid!" I yell.

"You can say that again." Alexandra retorted.

I look back and glare at her.  "This is not the time for your fucking jokes."

"You are the one that overreacted last night when you yelled at her AND you are the one that didn't tell her that you were inviting another woman over." Alexandra pointed out.

"You don't have to keep repeating that.  I get it.  I messed up in many ways.  I called you over to fucking help me, not make me feel even more like shit!" I said quite loudly. 

"I honestly don't know how I can help, Maverick.  I don't know Eve.  On top of that, you are the one staying here instead of going to her like Jasper and Oliver did."  Alexandra shrugged.  "I don't know how you expect me to help you.  Maybe go to her?  By the time you get there, Jasper and Oliver should have calmed her down enough to where you can talk to her.  Then, say you are sorry and explain EVERYTHING."

I scratch the back of my head before nodding gently and taking a deep breath.  "Okay."

"But I do want to meet her.  I want to apologize for this mess." Alexandra replied.

"Okay. You will meet her soon if she forgives me." I say quietly.

"If she loves you, she will forgive you." Alexandra says, and with that, she walks out of the house and leaves.

After a bit of pacing, trying to figure out what I am even going to say to Eve, I walk out of the house and to my car. Once I get in, I drive over to her house and lightly smile as I see Oliver's and Jasper's cars out front.

With my hands lightly shaking due to fear of rejection, I make my way to her front door and lightly knock.

Third Person POV

Eve, Jasper, and Oliver hear a knock on the door. Oliver looks at Eve, asking for approval to open the door to which Eve gently nods. Oliver opens the door and sees Maverick standing there.

Eve just looks at him and doesn't know what to say, so Maverick speaks up. "Eve, I know you may not want to talk to me or even hear from me right now. But I wanted to say I am sorry. I'm sorry for yelling at you...twice. And I'm sorry for not telling you that I invited Alexandra over.  I didn't know how to talk to you after I yelled.  I needed to ask her how to come about this situation.  It was wrong of me.  And I'm so sorry.   I don't want to lose you because I made these mistakes."

Eve contemplated whether she should forgive him or not.  He really hurt her but she still had strong feelings for the man. 

After some time, she finally spoke.  "Maverick... you really did hurt me.  I have abandonment issues as is and when you yelled at me those two times, I felt alone.  On top of me feeling alone, I woke up to another woman being in the house.  It hurt because I thought I was just easily replaceable."

Maverick felt crushed.  He immediately walked in and pulled her into his arms.  "Babygirl...I could never replace you.  You are one of a kind.  On top of that, you are ours and we wouldn't change that for anything." Maverick said quietly.

Eve stayed quiet as she was there in his arms.  She honestly didn't know what to say.  Maverick inhaled her scent as he held her close.  His hold on her was tight but not too tight.  It was as if it was a way to tell her that she belonged to him but she was also something precious and valuable. 

"I promise to never overreact like that again.  I now understand that you were just being overprotective and territorial.  I also promise to stand up for you.  No matter the consequences." Maverick spoke into her ear. 

Eve nodded in response.  She was still a bit upset about the situation but she was glad to have Maverick here.  She quickly looked at Jasper and Oliver as if silently asking if they could hold her too.

As if they understood, she both moved closer and held her as well.  She felt safe with her men.  She knew they would never physically hurt her and that's something she was thankful for. 

"So, if you are okay with it, I want you to spend the day with Oliver. Whether he take you in a date or whatever the two of you choose. I want you to have a good day after all that has happened. Jasper and I will clean up the house a bit and tonight we can make dinner and watch a movie. How does that sound?" Maverick asks.

"That sounds really nice. I'd like that." Eve said. 

They spent a bit more time together before Maverick and Jasper left, leaving Oliver and Eve alone.

"So, what would you like to do?" Oliver asked her. 

"I'm not sure.  I just wanna spend time with you." Was her reply.
