Only Them

Part 16

Jasper's POV

Not even 30 minutes into the movie, Eve ended up passing out on all of us.  She is so precious.  My eyes glance over at Maverick.  I've calmed down but I'm still a bit angry about the whole situation.

"You know.... I had thought about knocking you out this morning....  I was so pissed at you for what you did." I say just loud enough for him to hear.

Maverick just nods before speaking softly as he looks down at Eve.  "I know, my guy.  And I'm sorry.  I never meant to make her feel like that.  I just wanna keep her out of trouble."

"When it came to that woman, you should have let her deal with it.  We all know if a man went up to her and did what that woman did, we would have gone ballistic.  Shit.... Do you remember how we were with her ex?" I ask.

Maverick nods.  I can tell he knows I'm right.  He then speaks up again.  "I will never make that mistake again.  I don't know what it is about her but I feel like I need her in my life."

Oliver then piped up. "We all feel that way. When I spent the day with her, I felt like I couldn't stay away. Maverick...Jasper... you both know how I am.... You both know I can control my own actions fairly well. But today I couldn't. We ended up kissing.  And when that happened, I felt like time stopped and that it was only her and me.  This woman just came into our lives and I'm already wrapped around her little finger."

Maverick and I nodded in understanding.  "I think....tomorrow... we should all relax.  Let loose a little.  Especially because of the tension.  Let all go to the club.  You know... the one we always go to.  Have a few drinks, listen to music, and dance with our girl.  No drama.  Just us.  Let's show her that we are hers."

Maverick nods but Oliver shakes his head slightly.  "I don't know man.  There are a lot of women there that are always trying for our attention."  His voice carried worry, which was understandable due to what had happened.

"Then we show Eve that we are hers.  Immediately turn down the women.  We stay by Eve's side the whole night." Maverick said reassuringly.  "I'm not going to let a bunch of whores ruin my night with her."

Jasper nodded and Oliver softly sighed.  "I think we should leave it up to Eve.  See if she wants to go." Oliver spoke.

Jasper nods before looking down at her sleeping figure.

"I think once the movie is done, Jasper should have her in his room. I think she may still be upset with me. And...Oliver got her most of the day." Maverick says softly.

We all agree and focus our eyes back in the movie.

After some time, the movie ends to which Maverick shuts it off. I gently move her legs off me and move in front of them so I could gently pick her up. Her small body nuzzled into my chest as I lift her and begin taking her to my room. I hated leaving her in the clothes she wore today but I didn't want to change her out of her clothes and into something more comfortable.

I lay her down onto my bed and cover her up before I take my shirt and pants off before putting on a pair of shorts. I get into the bed with her and cuddle with her from behind. My arm draping over her waist, holding her to me. It didn't take long for me to pass out.

Eve's POV

I wake up in the middle of the night and let out a quiet yawn. Jasper's arm is around me and he is sound asleep. A soft smile forms on my face. He was so warm and he looked so peaceful. I gently get out of his hold and go to use the bathroom and once I'm out, I feel like I should see if Maverick is still awake.

I make my way out of the room and go up to Maverick's door and gently knock. A soft "come in" is heard and I make my way inside. I knew it was late and a part of me didn't know why he was still awake.

"I thought you would have been asleep." I say softly which fully grabs his attention.

"I couldn't sleep. But what are you doing awake." He says.

"I had to use the bathroom but then I wanted to come in here." I reply before making my way to his bed before gently laying down.

He looked a bit confused. Which I knew why. I lock my eyes onto his. "I'm still upset about everything that happened. But... you seem genuinely sorry..." My voice sounds even softer than before.

"I am. And I will never make those mistakes. My focus is on you. I don't want to lose you." He says softly before fully laying down and facing me. His large hand cups my cheek. "I don't know what it is about you. But I feel like I need you in my life."

A smile comes to my face due to his words. My body instinctively moves closer and I cuddle up to him. His warm body engulfing mine. 

No relationship is perfect.  There will always be arguments.  But it's how you get through them that makes the relationship strong.  Though Maverick and I have had troubles, our relationship was still perfect.

"Hey. What's on your mind, beautiful? I can see you thinking." He said, breaking me out of my thoughts.

I shook my head and smiled. "I was just thinking about how no relationship is perfect. Yet ours is. But not the perfect others would think. Perfect as in..... we have a perfectly healthy relationship. A healthy relationship still has issues. But you get through them."

He smiled, showing off his perfect teeth. He was literal perfection.

"Sleep now baby. You need it. We can talk more in the morning." He says before pulling me to him. My head rests on his chest, listening to his heartbeat. But then sleep took over me completely.
