"Woah," my new friends(??) say- they've clearly never met Luz the Human.
Luz huffs for a second, and then turns to me. "You ran away so fast, but I didn't want to interrupt, so- I think you should go."
There's a moment of silence, Bria, Gavin, and Angmar smiling, while Matt looks anguished. Finally, he seems to resign himself to.. something. "Well, he can't. Gus is just an illusionist. He'll only hold us back."
The words do hurt me, but I take careful note of his usage of my nickname. I don't think he's ever called me that before.
"Ha! Shows what you know. Gus here is a regular super witch," Luz says proudly with a hand on my shoulder and a finger jutted out at me. "Luz!" I laugh nervously, turning a deep shade of red..
I yank her over to the side anxiously. "Luz, I see what you're doing, and it's really sweet, but I don't actually know any other spells besides illusions!" I hiss at the smirking girl.
"No problem," she grins and hands me some of her glyphs- it's how she does magic as a human. "Come on, man. You know I'm all about proving jerks wrong," she winks in support. I give a small smile and turn back to the group.
"All right! I'm in. Where do we find these Galdorstones?" My confidence is completely made up, but... fake it till you make it, right?
