"According to the map, we should be getting close." Matt points ahead of him, but as he looks back at us, not paying attention to what's in front of him, he steps into a snake's coiled tail. It yanks him by the ankles into the air as he screeches in fear.
"Don't worry, Matty, I gotcha." I spin for pizazz and slam a glyph onto the ground, growing a vine reaching up to the snake. "Hey, only Bria can call me tha-" The vine pokes the snake's body, causing it to release Matt. He falls to the ground with a yell, and Angmar and Gavin grab him by the arms.
"Come on, dude..." mutters Gavin. "Not surprised he couldn't handle Glandus," remarks Angmar. As we walk, I question Bria about the odd statements the others made. "What did they mean by 'couldn't handle Glandus'"?
We come to a stop as Bria responds. "Things work... differently at Glandus." she says, shrugging. "Weak students are pushed around by the strong. But if I had a Galdorstone, maybe I could change things for the better."
I swear to the Titan, I just heard a scoff from behind a nearby bush.
"Hey! Over here!" calls Angmar. Matt frantically jumps to his side, which is a bit odd. Could he have been...? No. I push the thought away and instead opt to stare at the looming gate ahead.
