Robin keeps to the shadows as always and wearing nothing but dark blues and blacks of clothing. He's outgrown the show theme spandex outfits he stole with him from the mister and now runs out in normal but dark clothes to help blend into the shadows. He's just did his nightly round over slipping his notes of clues and hints towards evidence or suspect description into the waterproof pouch left hooked at the bottom of the batman spotlight.
He knew Jim was the one to place it down there. Tied by the zipper to the spotlight bottom to help keep it tucked out of sight but in easy reach for the pair of them. The notes would be useless if they got wet as they once did in the early days.
And as always, a new notepad with a new boring pen was left tucked inside to replace all the ripped off notebook papers he shoves inside. Robin is rather thankful that Jim tucks into the police force supplies and leaves a new notepad and pen for him in the bag once a month to help give him something to write on.
Now on his run back, taking a few loops and joy jumps along the roofs and over alleyways as he searches for his roommate, his family. Needing to make sure he was heading home himself and not put in any danger. Slowing down when he took notice over a tire iron on the ground and raising an eyebrow before leaping down with the help of the fire escapes.
His frown growing deeper as panic and worry filled him. It was a small drop of paint on the tire iron, nothing for most to worry over but it was the warning sign that it belonged to Jason. Dick secretly stole it once while Jason was at school and added that drop of paint on one end as a marking point to tell if it was their own or not. The paint was a faded yellow by now but it was placed in the exact place that Dick placed it in for Jason.
Jason wouldn't simply drop the one tool he had for his nightly business. He'd keep it to carry on with his crimes or to defend himself and their home if needed. Robin, took control again and raced home with the tire iron. Finding their home still empty and their window opened the crack they've always left it when one of them were still secretly snuck out.
Jason hasn't been home.
So, Robin found the shady man who Jason normally sold the tires too and asked if he heard about any big strikes today. Seeing if Jason had at least reached him before disappearing but the drunk and grumpy guy was as useless as always. Robin was back on the roofs and sprinting around the city in hopes to find his lost boy.
Slowing down when he reached the spot where he found the tire iron, leaving the tire iron back at their home for now. He noticed tire marks, certain tire marks that belonged to a certain bat car.
Robin might have kept to the shadows and never allowed his name to grow further then to Jim or himself. He was smart to keep out of Batman and anyone else's way. But that doesn't mean he kept an ear out for gossip for any trouble or kept an eye out for it either. He knew to keep a close eye on Batman from a safe distance for moments like this.
But Jason didn't normally go after children, not twelve years olds. It wasn't normal for him to take one away. And that's when the dread finally hit. Jason had never liked Batman, a wonder women fan to the bone he was but he hated how Batmen left the rest of them to the pits of hell. Always made comments over how someone should prank him or something and Dick knew .. Robin knew .. Jason had tried stealing the bat's own tire.
He prayed the batman had shown mercy and maybe took pity. Maybe Jason was on the way to an orphanage as he thought over all this. An orphanage was easy to break Jason out off and take him home .. if he still wanted to return home with him.
