A/N:

Hi,

I was supposed to finish this yesterday but it was very late. School is so crazy now.... I'm sorry for the long wait, but it's usually going to be like that now because everything happens so fast now. As for the story, this one is quite depressing and sad (actually my mood since the teachers bombard us with masses of study material and keep reminding us about final exams). Besides, there are a few vulgar words that I added to express Roger's behaviour towards Rick well. Now all that is left for me to do is to wish you an enjoyable read and I hope you enjoyed my desperate attempt to get back to writing.

Love

June

Warnings: anxiety, hard language

Your face was illuminated by the rays of the morning sun, breaking through the morning mist as you walked slowly along the seashore in sunny Greece. The wind blew your hair away, you could feel the cool breeze on your skin. Your legs were being doused by the water, you had to roll up your wide-leg jeans to keep them from being wet by the sea. It was a beautiful morning for such a walk; if it wasn't for the thoughts troubling you even more you could have concentrated on its magnificence.

Unfortunately, still the only thought in your head remained Rick. Ever since they started recording The Wall he seemed somehow out of humour; it was obvious that Roger and his constant perfectionism, as well as his apodictic nature, were not improving the mental state of your really sensitive boyfriend. Now, however, it was different from when he'd argued with the bass player before; in those cases he'd come back after a few days, but this time, in a rage, he walked into your French house booked to work on the record and announced that you were going on holiday to Greece.

You were extremely confused by his attitude, as only a few days earlier he had been doing his best to continue being the producer of the album, and then so suddenly decided to leave. You knew that he had been hit hard by Roger's statement that he was not doing enough to be considered a producer, but the other musician must have said something else that offended him so deeply. You had no idea what it was, as he didn't want to answer your questions, but you realised that it definitely tipped the scales of bitterness.

Hoping it would make Rick calmer, you agreed. On top of all the stress he was under, there was also the drug use (you never saw him do it, but sometimes he seemed too absent-minded not to be on high). It was a difficult time for you too; watching your husband suffer was really unpleasant.

You caught the first plane and flew out of France. You settled into the house that Rick had bought a few years earlier to celebrate your marriage; that memory seemed all too distant in the hard times. A few weeks of this 'holiday' were spent with you children, but when Rick started to deteriorate mentally you persuaded your parents to take care of your children for three weeks so that you could 'strengthen the marriage', although the real point was that the kids didn't have to see their father in such a state. As it turned out, however, Richard did not intend to spend this time with you at all; he would go out sailing each morning and when he returned late in the evening he would still go for long walks and only return when you were already asleep. At first you accepted his outings; you wanted to guarantee him the space and freedom he needed. However, after a week you were fed up with the lonely walks and the evenings spent watching TV in an incomprehensible language. You tried to talk to him about it, but he ignored it; in fact, you were beginning to get the impression that you were becoming complete strangers. It hurt a lot, but there was nothing you could do about it.

In the meantime, the album producer Bob called, asking where Rick was, because as it turned out he hadn't told anyone where he was going or for how long. Just as you were about to answer his questions your husband turned up at home, and when you handed him the phone saying it was the producer, he hung it up with a clatter and told you not to take calls from anyone connected with the band.
